I received a mystery fountain pen ink from ‪@seemownay‬ (that she got from ‪@Pausewithapen‬) so I gathered some inks that I thought would look similar to this sunny yellow ink. In this video, I swatch the mystery ink and compare it to other sunny yellow inks in my ink collection. I think one particular ink came REALLY close! Feel free to let me know what you think. My guess is either Rohrer & Klingner Helianthus or Sailor Manyo Yamabuki. They both look very close to what youre showing in my swatches, but ofc, theres always a difference between screen an paper. But those two seem to ber very close.

I'd say the Pennonia looks super close but it's probably not it. Thanks so much for sharing your yellow ink swatches. Can't wait to see who you chose to send this sample to. I'm kind of sad that the vial is so small.

My first guess is Diamina Golden Honey. Possibly Dominant Citrus …yellows are tricky

i concur with others who say it is Sailor Manyo Yamabuki. This is the first ink in my ink swatch binder...currently the lightest yellow ink in my collection. what a fun traveling project to guess a mystery ink amongst pen friends :)

I don’t have many yellows, but thought it looked like Stipula Saffron. I’d really like to find a dupe of the base color for Diamine Shimmering Sands. I think it has just enough brown component to be legible but would still read as a yellow. I’m also in search of a dustier orange, not rusty/copper but a little less saturated. I like to ink my pens each month to match a planner sticker set I get each month and they use a strong color pallet through the whole year. I’ve locked down the main colors, but not their accent colors - yet!

I have two Guridrops and I love them! Very smooth writers with no scratchy angles. Watching this made me realize I don't actually have a lot of yellows - it's probably the color family that I have the least inks of, and the ones I do have are mostly "dirty" yellows - darker, muted, leaning more towards yellow-greens and yellow-browns (gold?) than warm, sunny tones.

I like yellow, but truthfully use it for swatching drama, not pen loading. Do you have a favorite for pen delivery that doesn’t seem washed out, even via broad nib?

Verrrryyyyyy Interesting!!! First of all it's a lovely color. I see the resemblances in the Mystery Yellow and Dungo Wasp- I think I only have 1 yellow that it would be remotely close to. :)

Two guesses into the blue from me: Could be 1: Sailor Manyo Yamabuki 2: Van Dieman's Honey Bee Eater Chin (I know, Seemownay liked the sample... from her Videos)
