Fun fact: If you do this glitch then rebuild your character as you leave goodsprings you get to reassign new perks and keep your previously earned perks. Giving you X2 amount of perks.

As a boy who grew up in goodsprings (easy pete is my dad) I can with certainty say that you can not hit max level in goodsprings UNLESS you use a specific trick that was outlawed by the Nevada government in 1989 following a great disaster causing a major water shortage. Boy was that drought the worst in ages, my dog almost died during that one.

You can actually kill the radscorpions in the gulch to the east of goodsprings cemetary without leaving the world boundary. I do it pretty much every playthrough since each radscorpion is worth a pretty decent amount of XP for the early game.

Yes you can. Easy Pete lived in Goodsprings his entire life and he's max leveled already

On most of my playthroughs I always stayed a few in-game weeks in Goodsprings. I just liked the idea of my character taking his time to recover from getting shot in the head before heading out into the wilds.

You can make this glitch 10x more broken by pressing the rebuild character option at the tutorial boundary. You’ll be able to have almost double the amount of perks over the limit as long as you pick different perks than ones you already had. There’s literally a entry in the fallout wiki taking about this I recommend checking it out as it explains it a lot better than I can.( it also tells you which perks bug out) hope that was useful info I love FNV alot I have over 1500 hours in it anyways cheers 😎

Doing the xp glitch on console takes twice the amount of time. It’s brutal.

Skilled was a massive hindrance here, -10% to XP gains makes 11% more work to hit max level

You can shoot the rad scorpions for between 50 (big) and 10 (small) xp from Goodsprings Cemetery, but you are right on the border. You can go just down the hill to spawn the scorpions in the valleys and shoot them, but you are right near the line. You can also pick off some coyotes from the cemetery near the memorial for a couple xp each. I think they respawn after 3 days so rinse and repeat.

Theoretically you could spam crafting items by purchasing stuff like scrap metal and shell casings from the general store and then sell the stuff you make before resetting the shop inventory. Im not sure if you would make enough profit to loop it long enough to get to level 50. But if so, it would be possible, if slow.

I love that you changed Goodsprings Cave to just "cave" and I say we get the wiki to change it officially for accuracy. Lowercase too, for accuracy.

You know you can attract respawning enemies into Good Springs by shooting at them. You can shoot the giant Radscorpionss from Good Springs Graveyard, get it to chase you into the yellow zone, kill it and wait 3 days it will resurrect.

You forgot about talking to Victor before the fight starts, asking him to join, and then talking to him afterwards.

Jesus, I'm so close to the fallout games, and every once in awhile I watcha video on them and I start to realize how old the games are, and it starts to hit me just how much things have moved forward. Time flies

You cheated not only the game, but yourself. You didn't grow. You didn't improve. You took a shortcut and gained nothing. You experienced a hollow victory. Nothing was risked and nothing was gained. It's sad that you don't know the difference.

You could have done a cheeky trick by picking Logan's Loophole as one of your traits. It lowers your level cap to 30, so technically you could have completed the challenge by only getting to level 30 instead of 50 because 30 is your new max level and you physically cannot go any higher than it. It would save you gaining 20 more levels. Also, great video :).

There's one other way I can think of to gain max level while remaining in Goodsprings, and it's not even a glitch. There's a recurring challenge granting you 50xp for using 100 stimpaks. You can craft stimpaks with Xander Roots and Broc Flowers, both of which can be found in Goodsprings. It takes 72 in-game hours spent in another cell (say, the bar) for those plants to respawn. So you can technically create infinite stimpaks and use them to gain ultimate power. Technically. Now that's a stream I'd like to see :)

You can rebuild your character twice in this game, so technically 3x perks. Reset stats before leaving good springs then get old world blues. The autodoc let’s you reset your stats and you keep most perks.

You could try to shoot the NCR rangers in prim from really far away and try to get villified so that they keep sending ranger squads after you

Fun fact there are a handful of perks that remain stuck on your character if you choose to rebuild upon leaving goodsprings which means you can have nearly double the amount of perks.

In highschool I remember thee being an intermediate patch they had for a while when they first added the little visual of a mantis's arms blowing off when you took their forelegs off their body as loot. This was bugged and was considered a kill, and granted you the XP of killing the mantis even if it was already dead. You could put the forelegs from your inventory back into the mantis corpse, then take it back, which would again grant you the xp. I was able to spam this with one of the mantis in the school, and able to have a level 30 character (was before the DLC came out to up the cap) before having left good springs. I miss that bug...

If its within "Goodsprings" head up to the cemetery & on the right side (outside the fence), there's a large rock that makes a good perch with a excellent view of the rad-scorp pits. The larger scorps grant you 50 xp per kill. Sleep a few days then do it over again. In FNV you start out fragile like a wet paper bag. In every playthrough I never leave Goodsprings until I'm at least a lvl 12. *that dumpster, the mojave express mailbox, and a store* that close together, is reason enough to come back again... might as well farm some more xp from the scorps.

Hey Jabo I know this video is over a year old but I just wanted to say I recognized the background music at 4:23 as the menu screen music for Beetle Adventure Racing on the N64, I was like 6 and I played that with my Dad all of the time. Thanks for bringing me back with that memory, I can't believe I recognized the music.

Before you do the glitch, make sure you know the list of perks you get to keep after you leave and edit your perks again. Markers Every stay with you after the re-edit, so you can pick another perk.

Couldn't you continuously breakdown and rebuild ammo for crafting xp and challenges? You'll go negative on certain parts but you can always buy more from Chet. And you can steal as much stuff as possible from the town to afford more ammo. Might get you a decent chunk of Xp. Probably not enough for level 50 but it's something.

Now enjoy your time Spamming the same Dialoge till you hit lvl 50 (Info: you better watch out what perks don't carry over when you leave goodsprings to avoid the extra perks being lost so better plan ahead)

I really like this new format from you

It's actually really good to do this and then rebuild your character after leaving Goodsprings for the first time using the prompt. You get reset to level 1, but you keep all your accumulated perks, meaning you can then get double the perks as you finally play the rest of the game. Most importantly, you can get XP more easily as you move forward. You would likely have really good stuff like Jury Rigging (requires Repair 90 to get), the ones related to skill books and XP gain, weapon proficiency for your planned build, and more. Being able to reassign your special stats also helps, because you can then min-max them according to DLC perks that you obtain through quests. For example, the Old World Blues DLC has perks you acquire at the beginning and end. At the beginning, your heart, spine, and brain have been replaced. The spine perk in particular gives you another point of strength. At the end, you get the option to get your old body parts back. Getting your old spine back removes the perk that gives +1 to strength and instead gives a +2 to strength. You can also get an implant at the Freeside clinic to add 1 point to all of your special stats. With that, you only need to have 7 points in strength, get the implant, and get your spine back at the end of OWB to get 10 strength. If you plan on using power armor or other clothing items that boost strength by a point or two you can go even lower in order to maximize your stats. Worth noting that there's a lot of headgear and clothing items that boost stats, the rarest of which is the Lucky Shades obtained from the Legion safehouse, the only item in the game to give a point of luck. With all of these, it's probably possible to reach 10 for every stat. Personally the most I've gotten is 4 stats to 10, 1 stat to 7, and the other 2 stats to 6. I used the OWB perk trick and all 7 special stat implants in this, as well as all levels of Intense Training of course, so that leaves 9 points to be accounted for with apparel bonuses.

There should be a speedrunning category for this. Call it Goodsprings% or something :P

About the Goodsprings exploit, loot the Powderganger bodies AFTER you're done talking to Chet. Exact duplicates of each leather armor and 9mm bullet stack should spawn on 1-3 of the Powderganger bodies. Store the armor in one of the town dumpsters, go straight to Gun Runners over by the strip, and fast travel between both locations to sell the leather quickly to afford a shotgun and a rifle VERY quickly. Most people do not know about the stacks ending up on the Powderganger bodies, and I've been trying to spread the word about this since I discovered it for the first time.

When you leave goodsprings most of the perks you choose there you get to keep even when you respec your character. Like bloody mess or toughness 1 and 2 for example. Skills like retention or black widow won't stay though. I keep a lv30 that never left goodsprings so I can make hella different characters off of that one save. Trick is leave, make your character then save on a separate profile.

An alternate source of unlimited goodsprings XP, which still works with fan patches, is to kill radscorpions (who are outside the boundary of the tutorial) from the water tower with a scoped varmint rifle. Chet will restock ammo, the scorpions respawn, and the few respawning plants+glands from any scorpions that reach inside the tutorial area should be enough to keep your ammo topped up.
