The thing with actual hydrodip is is needs something to stick to. As an experiment I tried hydrodipping a bare aluminum intake manifold and it failed. I painted the manifold and dipped again and it worked as it should. I don't think it would stick to glass or a mirror.

Thanks for not using water, I was anticipating lots of bloom but that was prevented due to corn syrup. I suspect that your mirror glaze did not seize because you used candy melts which is usually compound chocolate and does not need tempering.

For the sake of art you may want a thin coating, but for the sake of frosting you want as much as possible. So that thick coverage on your chocolate mousse is not a fail but a win!

Maybe if you find a way to spray the glaze instead of drizzle, you could use water? That way there's consistency with how it's being applied to the water, like how the paint is sprayed on. It would probably sink too if you poured a bit of paint onto water. Maybe it could work when you're spraying smaller particles that might not break surface tension.

Seems they can improve this more into another levels, maybe after some quick dipping and smooth the extra layer then expose it into cold air will be helping more into freezing the colour and make them stay at same place, or layer by layer but when dipping prrogress it also exposed into cold air to speed up the freezing?

Wow! I never thought of this. But what if you did hydro dip cake..... with spray paint of course. Then u could cut it and see how thin it is. Also maybe you could hydro dip different types of food items and leave them out for a few days or weeks or whatever. Then cut them open to see if the spray paint acted like plastic wrap.
