don't choose humming bird as pet let the humming bird choose u as his/her friend, just grow trees and plants and always put water for all birds and sugar water this one, enjoy the sounds and beauty as gift, study thw humming bird and learn some lessons from it , try to take pictures and inspire people , tell what u learned from it, becoz scientist say humming bird's couldn't fly by their structure but they are one of the fast flying birds out there :)
Okay they cant be kept in captivity but at least now I know to plant flowers and provide a sugar water feeder for them! Maybe I should put some fresh fruits into the sugar water like they do at some hotels?
My dad caught one trapped in our garage and my mom wants to keep it for a few months as a pet before setting it free. So now I’m here 🤷🏻♀️ Edit; time to break the news to her that we can’t keep it lol
@@victorianmadonna true… but I feel like keeping it captive when it’s not a domestic animal is gonna require a lot of attention. And I doubt it can last under the roof for a whole day… so I’m just using this video as an excuse to release the poor thing

Well I wasn't thinking about trapping one and keeping it caged or anything like that as that goes against my beliefs, but I was thinking that if I ever happen to live in an area were there are humming birds I would just set up humming bird feeders in my house and teach them to drink from my hand so they can recognise me, is that illegal too?? Again I'm not gonna restrain them in anyway
That's safe and legal. :3 That's just connecting with nature, really. It is illegal or immoral to get some wild animals used to humans (especially predator species, as this can pose a safety risk to others), but birds are generally seen as a-okay to befriend.
Why would you want to. I love birds but i wouldn’t want one as a pet. Kinda sad if the thing that makes a bird amazing is its ability to fly and roam and represent freedom. Kinda messed up to cage it up.
For the people who want a hummingbird, don't be stupid they're wild respect that animals aren't a form of gaining status and you can't domesticate all animals and birds are meant to be free, not live life in a cage just admire their beauty in nature.
To be honest I would not trust a cat. They are amazing at catching birds. I have seen videos of people keeping them together thou. I guess you really need to know your cat...
Why would you want them as a pet when you can have them right there by the feeder even landing on your hands or arm. I'm against caging any bird, anywhere, unless in a proper sanctuary. One of the saddest sights I saw was a Condor in a tiny cage at Colorado Mountain Zoo. Couldn't even stretch its wings.
Because Hummingbirds don't live everywhere. I've never even seen one in my life because I'm from Switzerland, but I thought if it was a big room like one of these butterfly fake rainforest thingy's, why not? I've just never seen it before but I was definitely wondering if one could have them as a pet because I've never even seen a hummingbird in a zoo. They definitely won't show up in my feeder outside in winter.
@@HotaruIchimaru They do escape though. There are mixed flocks of parakeets budgerigars and cockatoos in the UK. Some have just been set free after the novelty wore off.
@@terencejay8845 Britain and Australia do actually have wild subspecies of parrots, most of the ones in Britain have just been taken from Australia and South America

Can we just inflate their population and have no mosquitos? Is that waht you weee going to say? Really thiugh, hummingbirds are awesome, may need to look into making a game or animated series or something showcasing abfew as protagonists or something.
