Pete…Bret Hart’s KOTR was incredible. 3 different match types against 3 different style opponents- Razor, Perfect and Bam Bam. Best 1 night showcase of Bret’s adaptability and he didn’t win once with his finisher. Dude, retract the shade.

Controversial opinion: I say Nakamura should’ve counted, as King Nakamura lead to Luke shooting on him in Monday Night War, and that was peak comedy. “Have a bloody word with yourself, you’re on both shows! Put some fuckin’ effort in!” EDIT: Pete is wrong about Brett because of three points: 1) Brett winning lead to his feud with Jerry Lawler. (“BURGER KING! BURGER KING!”) 2) Brett _carried_ the 93 King of the Ring PPV. 3) Owen only entered the tournament the following year due to being jealous of Brett and wanting to break out in his own.

Yes, and he had to wrestle 3 times in one night (over 45 minutes in total) to earn the right to call himself King. Back when the tournament actually meant something, and they didn't put the crown on unsafe workers like Mabel and Nia Jax.

Yes, but not in a tournament. Beat Harley Race at 1989 Royal Rumble. Bobby Heenan in both corners. Haku had been wearing the crown in Race's absence and when Race came back they did the match to make it official. His coronation was 6 months prior in July 1988.

I think I got this, if it's tournament winners. You've got Gunther Xavier Woods Baron Corbin Sheamus William Regal Booker T. Brock Lesnar Edge Kurt Angle Mr.@$$ Billy Gunn Ken shamrock Hunter Hurst Hemsley Steve Austin Mabel Owen Hart Bret Hart. I believe this was the first televised ppv for the tournament. Also another fun fact, Bret Hart is the only winner to win the crown twice and consecutively. His first win was the last non-televised. that's where my knowledge of reverse chronological order ends. I know don muraco won Hulk Hogan I'm pretty sure one a non televised one Haku I believe won it then macho man beat him for the crown later on. I want to say Harley race won it but that could be wrong.

A fun idea, you give each contestant a separate category and give the win based on percentage answered. For example, if you did KOTR, and a person answers 10 of them, 10/22. They get 45%. It might need tweaking but it could be fun for one episode.

The reason they don't remember Bret winning it (Twice!) might be the first time he won it(1991) was back when King of The Ring was a special house show, not a pay per view, and the second time(1993) was the first ever televised King of the Ring.

The funny part to me is referring to Randy Savage as the most famous King of the Ring, but he is famous for his Macho King reign for which he did not win a tournament (he took the crown from Jim Duggan). He just also happened to win a tournament a couple years earlier.

If you follow the King of the Ring from Don Moraco until its conclusion only taking into consideration clean singles wins and loses, not only could it have been ended with Goldberg's retirement from wrestling but it is also Cody Rhodes as of June 16th, 2024.

Bret Hart should have been the first name brought up. I believe he's the only two time winner, and first PPV version of the KOTR. He should easily be one of the most memorable,so much for these supposed wrestling fans.
