American 80s kid here, but, got some of the BBC toons as well; Early Nickelodeon aired Danger Mouse, Bananaman, and even in the pre-Nick Jr days, had early morning programming aimed at little ones, and showed a lot of BBC shorts, like Towser and Bod and The Ratties, and so on.
