@@C1yde902 literally, they both attack rarely enough that it's safe to kite them at close range and take pot shots. That's the whole point of the fight. Easily the most interesting boss in the game.
7:37 This a known bug, if you kill Ornstein while Smough is doing the charge attack which has an active hitbox as long as he's running at you, when phase 2 starts, the hitbox remains active in his last location before he teleports for the cutscene, so it was Smough who hit you.
@@McDudes I personally didn't encounter it in PTDE but it could be there. As a person who never levels up vitality though, I wouldn't go out of my way to find out lol.
6:24 the One shots with the Comet azur are essentially the same thing, a continuous cast of a sorcery, the only difference is that in ds1 you have the casts counted
for Nito if you used Slumbering Dragoncrest and Ring of Fog the skeletons wont aggro. Using this, you can lure Nito behind the bunch of stalagmites in the center to block the skeletons view, switch ring of fog to RTSR and use Power Within, and fire surge him to death. You can also probably switch slumbering for Bellowing dragoncrest, but then the skeletons will likely hear you.
The true boss in the Nito fight is the Skeletons. I have died more to them than Nito himself lol. Super cool to see bosses get melted at NG6 and overall a super cool video!
I was watching some Dark Souls videos in the bed just before going to sleep, but this one got me. Finally I had a possibility to use my knowledge about lingering hitboxes but somebody was faster to explain it.
There's a true Firesage one-shot setup but it involves co-op and having your phantom clip through the elevator outside the Fair Lady's bonfire and do a plunging attack on the boss. Not sure if that counts under your rules.
Nice video. And shoutouts and acknowledgments are always nice - especially in the Souls community. After the release and success of Elden Ring, we've had many Souls-tuber groups come together and create amazing stuff.
7:41 While fighting O&S royal sentinels can still hit you through the fog wall if you're close enough, not sure if it was them what killed you in that case in particular though (For the algo! 💪)
I always fight Ornstein first because he can do a bs animation cancel on his spear stab that makes it impossible to dodge. Worrying about that on no death runs is stressful
I know for the smaller ones you can, but I was thinking there are some that are coded to always respawn even if a divine weapon was used. May be thinking of a different mechanic from something else though
DS1 boosts damage on any weapon if you hit during the riposte window, even if its not a riposte. This includes spells. So yes, parrying matters with mages.
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't chaos Firestorm do a little bit more damage than fire tempest? Yes the pillar itself is worse but I'm pretty sure the pillar and the lava pool together out damage
I think it does depending on lava ticks? Idk for sure though, but I did try Chaos Storm and it seems to be a little harder to hit 3 pillars on some of the bosses. Not sure if it has a wider spread or something
Well I still couldnt oneshot him even on that attempt. I think it would be maybe possible if you cleared out all the skeletons and got really good ones ring with his attacks a d fire surge, but I didn’t have the mental fortitude to
@@trevthedev6134You are probably correct, and if so then there is no other option. I am guessing you could take them both down with a very well timed and placed dark bead were they just timed. I imagine some bosses cannot genuinely be one-shotted due to mechanisms ie: bed of chaos, and ceaseless discharge, perhaps the gargoyles are the same. I believe they are just timed in DS2, but I may be wrong there too.
Hp increases by 50% with a summon, and channelers trident is a 40% damage boost (effectively another power within). So I think you would have to be outside the fog wall, pop the trident buff, d/c, and then reach the boss. Not sure if that’s possible for someone like Nito but it isn’t impossible in theory I suppose. Not sure how long the trident buff is for.
