@@an_internet_user2311 Yeah, it doesn't really justify a price tag of $500+ though. So, screw the journey. I'll rather buy something productive instead.
I'm picturing a thief struggling to open it while standing over the dresser in the bedroom of the house they've broken into. sweating, knowing time is ticking, he says fuck it and throws the whole box into his loot bag
Clive barker sure made up a captivating story didn’t he. Since 1986 i can not nót think about the Cenobites whenever i see something cubic which is a toy or a puzzle. 😂
@@bjorngoud5259 I feel so dumb. When I saw 'Clive Barker' in my notification area, my first thought was...."Isn't that the guy from Marcella?" 🤦🤣🙄🤭 IYKYK
that would work with a small box but, if you make this sort of puzzle on a large safe, the thief will be screwed. remember also that you can set alarms in case a thief tries to open it with the wrong moves. leave this note, or a similar one, near the safe: dear thief, here are stored my most valuable treasures. feel free to try but, be warned, to those that here seek what's not theirs, only despair awaits. enjoy the game.
There's a difference between a puzzle and a password. Puzzle gives you all the hints you need to solve it. Here, you need to know the sequence to open it beforehand.
Obviously not... because people figure it out in process. By your standard, no maze is a puzzle because there's only one sequence of correct turns that you can't know ahead of time.
That’s a very clever use of a few simple mechanisms. I’m curious of two things; 1) is that the ONLY combination that opens it? It seems likely to me that the constraints that make the shuttle settle in the open position might also settle in that position from other sequences. 2) Can it be reset like an adjustable combination lock?
@@milagrosalfonso2501 These comments are a literal record. Do you think that for the record, we should accept ridicule? Was there any reason that the rude comment should have been aired in a less rude manner? It wasn't followed up with a productive argument, it was a ridiculing interjection of a strangers opinion, nothing more. Absolutely unnecessary and rude. I will stand up for myself against such treatment.
Over $450 US is insane for this box. You could get a really really nice Japanese puzzle box for that price or several smaller nice ones. Mine is like 12 moves, was less than $100, and is a solid well made box. I think its better than the one in this video anyways.
Anyone else get that sense of satisfaction everytime it clicks when he slides the panels across? And the end when he unlocks the box is even more satisfying!
I like that the solution is to line up the semicircles, but also requires several not-immediately-clear steps to do it. It’s simultaneously secure and satisfying.
Hearing ScaleTree's voiced reaction to my stuff is the stuff I make it for. I love to actually listen and hear the voice quirks that text can not show.
I have a box kinda similar to this! One of the local shops sells these with intricate designs on the top and I think they are genuinely so cool! Mine is of a wolf howling at the moon.
i like that the name of the puzzle is a hint towards the solution. it starts as a sort of fingerprint pattern and you need to set it to look like a ripple.
I was legitimately interested in buying one of these from the description, until I went to the website and realized they want over 400 British pounds for that little box, so I'm I'm just going to buy a cardboard box instead
as much as i respect the intricite craft that went into this, i am 95% sure i'd yank it appart on accident or pure frustration after not remembering the sequence once it was in my shelf for more than 2 days
