Looks too cold for me. Great activation anyway - I am going to give it a try when the weather warms some. They got the memory keying working on the X6100 with the last firmware update, and I'm a lot happier with the battery management. it's definitely a worthwhile install.

I would like to see a speaker wire dipole, (speaker wire feedline and legs) in a sloper configuration, since you get the antennas into the trees easily.

Well another great little activation. well not little really. in any event that antenna still boggles my mind. And it played well on the X6100! tuned that little critter right up. and with 20 contacts you can't fault that. I was in there trying to hear you on this one, but as fate would have it the RF Gods did not favor my direction. I could just about tell you were in there. But we'll keep trying! thanks for braving the cold and snow! Tom it is appreciated coming from Western Ma. My 2 cents ..I’ve had my AX-1 and 2 now about 3 weeks and really Kicking some butt with hunting POTA ! By the way I live outside of Buffalo NY soooooo All these contacts have been inside my house ! Unreal to say the least until the WX gets warmer here! It does work gang not as great as my dipole but none the lest I’m racking up many contact with it on 20,15,17, and 40 meters! I have the 5150. Im not sure what the 6100 would give me other than better graphics. Had the KX2 for a year now. I’ve just started using that. I still love the qcx mini as what i use most.

Looks like you had great success with the AX-1 and the x6100. As you know I have the AX1 and just before winter hit I got the AX2. You can use your existing 40 meter attachment on the AX2 as well. I really haven't tested out the AX2 since it's so darn cold right now. My main POTA antenna the past 2 months is the spark plug EFHW...it's just a fantastic antenna and maybe you can check that out and review (I'll even lend you mine). 72.

Great video as usual. I know this video is a year old, but I just received a AX1 for my X6100. I have searched everywhere and can not find the type of cable Tom used for the counterpose connection. Anyone know where I can get a set, or did Tom make them, if so where can you get the parts.

Just ordered my AX1 today for my 6100. Need something small for trips. My CW game is weak so fun to watch and listen. 73 KO4KHB (POTA on)
