what's up beautiful people? some of you are asking me about the sample pack I used in this video. unfortunately I can't give it to you, because some samples are mine, some I bought online, etc. BUT! I have a brand new sample pack with more than 190 custom sounds. I truly put my all into it for the last couple months. you can find it here: www.bigumami.com/product/big-umami-bombz-vol-i/ if you wanna hear it in action, here's a new video where I use it extensively: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ebxX2-rikpI.html
maaaan that's veeery high praise, don't make me blush! tho you got me thinking I should probably refine these tunes and mix them properly and release an actual 30 min continuous EP... maybe I'll put it on Patreon or sth.
hey thanks my man. the volca sample seems to receive NO LOVE whatsoever compared to the other samplers I make video about. but I gotta say, in some ways, it's probably my favourite and it holds a special place in my heart. it's a powerful little machine if you get to know it well. the mk2 especially truly is a poor man's digitakt imho
Incredible mate. Synth/gearhead community would implode on itself if they see this. I would be absolutely elated to hear this exact set at a coffee shop.
cmon mate you're gonna make me blush at work! please share the good word, send this video to a fellow gearhead/coffee shop frequenter. working on more like this, stay tuned!
Dude this is superb. Well orchestrated and a good use of sounds and grooves. I keep meaning to plug my sample in and get it running , this has inspired me
About tip number 5 - I think sorting patterns on the Volca is actually much easier using the Volca Sample Librarian, there, you can even name them, do backups etc. That way, you wouldn't need to worry that much about keeping empty slots.
This is the best mix that I have heard from this thing. I am getting mine tomorrow and stoked about it. I literally have Logic Pro and MPC Software with TONS OF RESOURCES and all I want is THIS TINY LITTLE SAMPLER. I think it would be more fun because of the live mode.
man first of all, thank you! second, dude I have ALL the plugins. but nothing beats just the feeling you get out of making a tune by touching buttons and moving knobs. I know what you mean.
@@BIGUMAMI I really love this thing. Made a little house mix and everything. I think I have it all figured out. I was wondering, are there only 16 patterns that I can make? Judging by the Vosyr app, it looks like I get 50 patterns I can make, so how do I get to them? Or maybe 16 is the limit?
good stuff! I have to be completely honest though, I made this using an MKII which makes things much easier - writing melody and bass lines in the mKI is almost impossible whereas it's absolutely feasible on the MKII - I explain it in this upcoming video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ebxX2-rikpI.html
thank you! I'm working on a new vid where I make a full track start to finish on the volca - I'll pin the link to this video's comment section when it's up!
Thanks man. Your set is a bop and your videos about Volca and PO-33 are one of the best on youtube. You’re definitely doing the right thing, sharing your experience with these devices and your music - you’re very good at it.
Love this man! The volca sample is super underrated, people really sleep on it but it has so much character. You really made it sing here. I'd love to know what's going on with your post processing here. You made it sound absolutely massive! 😀
IKR? sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who's absolutely in love with this machine and praises it constantly. @Korg it's time to give me my percentage!
It is an amazing machine with a great sound, one of my favorite over all. Oh I forgot: you make exactly the House music we love, old school less is more style. Jah Love
You’ve made me realise how little I’ve pushed my volca samples (I have both the Volca Sample and Volca sample 2). You have done more with the Volca sample 2 than I’ve done with both units. Great music. Korg will shift loads of these thanks to you.
man. sorry for the late reply! this comment is the reason I make videos (even though I'm on a forced hiatus rn). thank you so much! I promise I'll post more volca goodness when I'll finally be able to be back.
Man , I really need some headphones. I was really about to buy some beyerdynamics , But you have persuaded me to change my mind. I have a td3 and after seeing how powerful this little box is in the right hands , it's now a priority. Great work. I'm very impressed with your set. Thanks for this!
hey dude, I mean, it depends on the state of your current headphones ahah! by the way oddly enough... I JUST BOUGHT a TD3! so there are DEFINITELY gonna be videos about it soon! WHOOP WHOOP! In the meantime, you can watch this new Volca Sample video about to premiere in less than 30min ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ebxX2-rikpI.html

Amazing set, man! Got one VS2 this week... Sooo much fun!!
Yes you can and it will be way more fun if you have a midi controller controlling it . The real question is can a midi controller, controller two volca sample?
to be honest, I never quite felt the need to use a MIDI controller on these, I love just using the sequencer! and you either need 2 midi controllers or 1 controller + 1 midi splitter i think
none of these are original on board sounds! they're all custom sounds I either made or collected specifically for this performance! btw I have a sample pack on my website if you're interested! www.bigumami.com/product/big-umami-bombz-vol-i/
You did really great. Got one myself last week and working on it right now. Did you use the standard samples or custom ones in your set ? I hope to reach your skill level one day, but i think that it's a lot of work.
thank you so much bigkik, that's a huge compliment! no standard samples in this one, mostly a collection of samples I got from Splice and the internet. I might work on a completely custom kit for the volca for my patrons in the future! I'll keep you posted!
what is up greedy guts? I have a Discord server! come and chat about samplers, software, and leave some suggestions on what videos you want to see next: discord.gg/DMntZNBX
Can you record both your final song with this and can you save your projects with the samples on this device ? If yes, is there an SD Card slot for storage ?
unfortunately, it's a no to both questions... but keep your eyes on this channel, I'm working on a tutorial on how to export volca sample multitracks to your computer/DAW!
it's a custom pack made from different sources, some are samples made by me, some are found sounds, some are from Splice! I'm working on a fully home made sample pack that I'll showcase in my next volca video, sometime in the next 2 weeks! I'll put the link both to the video and the sample pack as a pinned comment on this video as soon as I put them out!
@@NeonArtifact yes you use the sync input to transfer samples But befor you do that you convert the samples to a modem noise because a soundcode is transferring your samples
@@meinemudda3095 Thanks man. I am gonna buy an og Sample 1 and put the Pajen firmware on it. So the sync in can store samples, awesome. Is there software to convert it to the noisy sound code? My pocket operator does the same thing for data transfer actually. Finally, what's the most storage space you can get if you pitch up the samples before loading? You rock, bro. Thanks again
