its not painful if you ride the bike properly. First, put the weight on the balls of your feet then squeeze the tank with your legs and you shouldn't be putting so much weight on your wrist its the sign of really bad form.

It's perfect if you ride it the way it's intended. This is not an upright motorcycle, which is what the video creator was trying to force on the highway, so it's obvious that you'd be uncomfortable.. Get a ninja 650 if you want comfort and an upright position dude...
@joshuacoleman8814
@joshuacoleman8814 22 дня назад
@ahmedmarei4808 That'd kinda the premise of the video. The topic wasn't specifically a review of the Zx-6r but instead on how a 600cc bike feels as an everyday ride. The result of this video should be obvious for most people here in the comments. You absolutely can everyday or commute on a 600 but it simply won't be as comfortable as almost any other kind of motorcycle. It's a decision between comfort and more fun. Most motorcycles are fun, a Supersport just adds that little extra sauce if you're into speed.

Just recently bought a 2016 ZX-6R and absolutely love it. Watched a couple of Dave Moss Tuning videos on suspension setup. Softened the harsh stock suspension setup, replaced & adjusted the levers, and adjusted the sag. The bike is now a dream to ride. It corners like its on rails and it no longer tries to kick me off when hitting a bump in the road (second kid on the trampoline affect). Using your legs and abdomen are critical to keeping your hands from going numb, plus the bike is so much easier to steer without the extra weight on the handlebars.

Great video Spite, love the longer format in addition to the separate first impression video. I ride a 2017 636 at 6'4 as well, so I felt your pain in this video big time. I'm young and light so my back can take it, but on my longest rides the position can be a real killer for my knees. It's a help to put some weight in my legs to avoid that board of a seat, but holding my legs contracted like that eats away at you (the vibrations are probably quite literally grinding down something in there). It's an absolute trip to ride my dad's versys 650 - almost the same displacement, but a total opposite design approach to my zx6r - but I have zero desire to trade my bike in for anything else right now. Too much fun! I never ride for more than a couple hours so I can cope for a few more years.

I think if I had to do it all over again I would most definitely want to try it on another bike. Not sure which one but I'm sure other bikes are just as capable maybe even more so. As far as doing it all over on another bike and having to keep whatever bike that is. No way Jose, never not in a million years will I give up the thrill that this one particular bike gives me. Just the pure power, knowing that you can smoke pretty much any car you encounter and almost every bike almost every time is so satisfying to me. Being king of the road is hard to let go. Obeying all traffic laws is extremely hard to do on this machine, just wanting to pass every car because it's torture doing 30 mph behind grandma who's on a Sunday stroll in the Buick.

Another solid video Spite. The ZX6R looks really fun and well put together. I ride a honda sport bike with similar ergos... If someone is thinking about getting a sport bike I highly recommend doing core muscle exercises every day or every other day. I also highly recommend grip pads on your tank. Once you have some core muscle strength and are able to grip the bike with your knees, it really helps with comfort on longer rides. Your lower back will benefit from core exercises even if you don't ride a sport bike....

I have a 2021 zx6r. I love everything about it. The looks. The sounds. The dash cluster. The power and rideability. The one bad thing about it, it is absolutely miserable to ride slow. When I’m on a long ride I feel great up until I get stuck behind a car for any amount of time. You definitely need to be athletic to be able to hold yourself up for a while and going fast you get that wind to help hold you up. Going slow it’s all on you. One thing I bought that is a life saver for long straight stretches on the interstate is a throttle lock. If you are confident enough to sit up and balance without your hands, you can do that for a few minutes to give yourself a little break

Cool review Spite! Being a big guy myself at 6'7" and over 250, I can relate. I've found copious stretching prior to the ride, tightening your core, tuck in the straights, and changing body position frequently are your best friends. I've ridden many days of 100+ miles with 10-30 lbs in my backpack on a sport bike. Getting in the tuck + core tightening for periods gets the pressure off your shoulders and wrists. You nailed it - designed for the track so even if you can't go track speeds, you can do track techniques and save your body :).

I spend most of my time on my core, a minute here and there on the wrist, some time on the tank. Never felt tired or sore after more than an hour's ride. I put 2800 miles on a ninja 400 before getting my 2023 KRT 636... At first I thought it was a huge mistake because of the ergonomics...My 3rd time sitting on one was the day I took it off the lot. And it was my first time actually reving the throttle and riding. It was intimidating, specifically tight U-Turns. I had about 3 months riding experience. But I didnt care, I wanted to ride that bike so badly I told myself I would overcome any challenge. I stalled it the first time out of throttle fear. Then I took a deep breathe and took it off the lot slowly. Practiced in a near by bank parking lot for 20 minutes and then rode it home. Low power mode, traction control 3. After about 150 miles ergonomics started feeling normal. And after about 1,300 miles it feels like a glove. I love the bike so much!!! For me, it makes for an effective ride on public streets. I don't believe in bopping along on a cruiser. You have to command the road and have presence, constantly avoid other drivers with speed but don't let the enjoyment prevent caution, especially on residential streets where anyone can decide to make an illegal abrupt U-Turn or come out of a lot without stopping first. I'm very lane position conscious and avoiding being in blind spots. My m4 slip on lets everyone know I'm coming up behind them or to their sides. I'm extremely happy I adapted to my favorite bike. I highly recommend the learning to master the front brake. Practice using it on every ride. Learn how to ride while always covering your front brake and learn how to trail brake. Now, time to learn wheelies :)

Hearing your enthusiasm as you enjoy the bike has made me happy but also sad, because my first bike was an '04 ZX-6RR that same year. I let it go in 2012 and still miss it. Never felt slow. After I bought my first '06 ZX-10R, I let my friend ride it most of the time and I rode the 600, because I enjoyed it more. The noise and the usability in the twisties was addicting. I started riding again in 2022 after 9 years off. Got me a '22 Hayabusa and another '06 ZX-10R, but I'm yearning so hard for another 600, because those big engines are just too much for the road.

Looks like a great bike. Definitely one I would consider. But I'm just so in love with the GSXR-750. As a 42 year old "dad". I seem to be evolving backwards. Most of my friends started out on sport bikes, then went to nakeds, and are now on nice comfortable cruisers. I started on cruisers, then ended up on the nakeds, and I'm now looking at a sport bike lol Which is why I'm so into the GSXR. It's just more comfortable than the other bikes in it's class. Don't get me wrong, its ergos still suck, but not as much as the competition hahahaha

Great clip! And actually really useful. These bikes are so much fun but just not regular, daily users. Maybe the Honda CRF650R but otherwise a decent midsize naked bike is way more practical and comfortable. I recently picked up a cheap Suzuki Bandit 650S just for zipping around during the week between client visits and it’s fantastic! It’s old school carbed engine is as smooth as butter at low revs but wind it up on a back road and it really surprises you!! Brilliant fun, cheap, comfy, practical and sound great with an aftermarket pipe. What’s not to like!

Had a '15 ZX6R several years back, took it on several ~3hr rides to Willow Springs & ButtonWillow thinking I could play on track the next day (after resting my back overnight). Putting a good, fully loaded tank bag on was the ticket so I could lay my stomach/chest on the tank back for long stretches at a time. So with a stuffed tank bag you can make it work, but as much fun as the bike was would I buy that bike or similar all over and do it again? Nope. Then again, these days I'm doing the Multistrada V4 thing, so can't fathom leaving the power+comfort paradigm ever again. Still, enjoying your vid and laughing as I recall my former pains through watching yours! :)

I bought my first motorcycle at 37. A brand new rs660. Strangley enough my experiences have bee a little different. By the time I took the RS660 in for its 600 mile service, I was already pretty used to the bikes power and had begun looking at liter bikes. During to first service I test rode an RSV4. Wow what a difference. The power was what I was fantastic! I can't explain why but I actually find the RSV4..... more comfortable than my 660. Same goes with the V4S.

I bought a 2022 Ninja 400 for my Grandson last summer. I put the first miles on it and had the break in svc done before giving it over... I've always been a dual sport-cruiser rider... never had any interest in a sport bike until I spent time on that thing. ...anywayz I got the bug so bad I bought a new 2022 Ninja 650 lol. I absolutely love that thing. Been seriously considering getting a ZX-6 so your review was exactly what I needed to see. I was thinking that would be the 650 on steriods. After watching your review I don't think one of those is for me lol. Maybe the 1000sx is more what I'd be interested in.... Thanks for the review! BTW I agree about the Kaw 650 parallel twin. It's the Briggs & Stratton of bike engines (the Honda 500 twin is right there with it), but it's light, cheap and indestructible keeping the Ninja 650 freekin cheap.

I'm 76 now and my Versys X300 is much easier to ride. The seat is not the most comfortable, but I can deal with it. Next up a Lifan 150 or Kymco 150 mini moto.
