Ever wonder how the Anat Baniel Method®️ helps with spasticity in your loved one with Cerebral Palsy?
Watch to learn where the spasticity in the muscle is generated, and how addressing the muscle won’t get us the results we think it will!
Phoebe and Jen talk about the shift from thinking the issue is a mechanical one, to realizing that in order to make a change in your spasticity you must feed the brain (the injury/source that is causing the spasticity) with rich information so that the brain can make new connections to coordinate the muscles more efficiently and effectively.
Join Phoebe and Jen, both Certified Anat Baniel Method®️ NeuroMovement®️ Practitioners, as we talk about the source and solution for spasticity in the muscles of people with Cerebral Palsy
But we don’t stop there! We’re so passionate about our work that we also discuss
✅ Carpal Tunnel Syndrome!
✅ The “self organizing” nature of the human brain
✅ What the Brain needs to build functional neural connections
✅ Why stretching can backfire

I suffered SIDS hours after birth, due to negligence of the nurses. I was diagnosed with hypoxia and it predominately affected my right side. I tense when I feel nervous, as in when carrying a tray of anything especially drinks, or walking in front of people and 'being watched.' The tension/spasticity resonates through the whole body. Would this method apply to me? If so, how may I look into it?

Absolutely! This method uses slow, gentle movements to access the brain's ability to change (create new connections!), so it can help... well... just about anyone with a brain! 😀 Depending on the person (and diagnosis), most common results are better balance, coordination, less spasticity, calmer, better sleep, etc. More specific for people recovering from a stroke or brain injury, the changes might look like better use of their fingers, hands, better speech, less tremors, less spasticity, etc. It's basically an upgrade for your whole body (and nervous system!). I highly recommend seeing an Anat Baniel Method practitioner in person (google "Anat Baniel Method" and your city), you'll get the 'best/faster' results usually with in-person sessions. But often the travel/cost/schedule is hard for most families, that's why I created this RU-vid Channel! Every week, I'm adding a 5 min guided video, just for adults recovering from a stroke, brain injury or neurological disorder, that can be done in a chair. Check out the playlist here: ru-vid.com/group/PLCNDlkdbV1K2xSo1intMK1RYq8qZjy1MJ These are great to get people started at home! You'll start to notice small changes, that can add up to huge changes! Keep me posted if you try the videos and any changes that you notice!

Hi! I'm glad you found my channel! Remember that you'll get bigger changes when you slow down and explore variations of movements (instead of going big and fast!). Small and gentle are proven to grab the brain's attention.
