Can You Refuse A Blood Alcohol Test? 

Many states do indeed have implied consent laws, and those who refuse to take a BAC test after they have been arrested may face severe penalties.

The Criminal Code of Canada also has an equivalent to an implied consent law. Refusing to provide a blood, breath or urine sample is a criminal offence if there is a lawful demand, by a police officer, for such a sample to be provided.
