Instagram has a feature called Close Friends that allows you to create a customized list of people with whom you can share your stories privately. When you add someone to your Close Friends list, they will be the only ones who can see the stories you share with that specific list. Let’s see how to use this feature. The Close Friends feature on Instagram can also be used to share your story with only one person while keeping it hidden from everyone else.
• Tap create new at the bottom or swipe right anywhere in Feed.
• Tap Story at the bottom.
• Tap at the bottom of the screen to take a photo, or tap and hold to record a video. To choose a photo from your phone's library or gallery, swipe up anywhere on the screen.
• When you're ready to share, tap Close Friends at the bottom.
Stories shared with close friends disappear after 24 hours. People on your close friends list will know they're on it. No one can request to be added to your close friends list.
If someone has added you to their list, you'll see a close friends Close Friends label when viewing their stories and a green ring around their profile photo.
You may also be able to share a reel with your close friends list. If someone on your close friends list likes, comments on or shares your reel, others on your close friends will be able to see their username and how they interact with your reel.
