Can you slide with braid? 

Did you ever think of rubber coating or heat shrink tube the coil/s on the slider to see if it works on braid? Either the 1st coil at the front or last one at the back or all of them. Ever use 2 rods to run sliders? One as an anchor rod that you run the slider down and use a breakaway as some use on downriggers and planerboards the other as the bait/fighting rod. Here in the US I fish for Catfish and been thinking of trying the slider in wide rivers (some over a mile wide) and also been thinking there has to be some way to use 2 rods with one as an anchor rod.

This is why Rudolph gets the big money! I'm keen to try sliding mainly because of my age and a bum elbow and shoulder limits my ability to cast big baits long distances, but I don't know that I would have been able to figure that out on my own without a lot of trial and error. Please keep the tips coming because even old dogs can learn new tricks. Cheers

Thank u for this video and many others. Always a pleasure to watch and learn. Makes perfect sense what youve said. I have never slid a dead bait out using braid...but i have with live bait. I found that using the weighted slide...rebending the slide closer to spring and being more gentle on the shake works well.

*Have used the braided line for several years **enjoyable.fishing** recommend both for salmon in the summer as well as walleye through the ice. Can’t beat it for the price!*

If one should slide on braid, should one prefer a 8strand over a 4brand braid? Or will 4strand do the job?
