Many people try to accuse us of selling cheap imported copies of quality brands like Garrett, Holset, Borg etc. while many of the popular companies they support are in fact doing that very thing.

Many companies today are supplying you with cheaper import turbos simply rebranded with paint, billet wheels, and custom cast covers...
Popular sellers and "builders" who once were using quality brands like Holset/Cummins, Garrett, Borgwarner have since traded in quality for cheaper quantity. And you pay for it!
This is happening for all turbo platforms for Cummins, Duramax, & Powerstrokes. Don't get fooled with the industry "Bait & Switch" tactics. Often times they display a version on the OEM branded turbo platforms in their websites etc, but what you get in the box is a non-branded import copy of the original turbo designs from Garrett, Holset, Borgwarner etc.

Thank you for the info and bringing this all to light. I had a Stealth 64 and had nothing but issues. I finally got them to give me a refund. I wish I knew about all of this sooner. It’s a shame how they operate over there.

Thanks for your comment. Been trying to educate the market for a little while now. This issue has been going on for a few years & growing. Surprisingly, we have been met with a lot resistance & underhanded tactics from competitors & their supporters. There is unfortunately also a lot of insider politics involved with this industry as well. Many folks try to discredit or deny the details.

A friend of mine that has been building turbos for 30ish years alerted me to this problem and just how shocking it is. Companies like Power Driven, Stainless, smedding, BD, the list goes on, all source castings from places with much less QC oversight in the metallurgy and machining process. Especially when theyre claiming big horsepower numbers and high boost pressure capabilities, it seems like a huge risk when and if they fail. Recently I read about a person at a sled pull event losing their life when an aftermarket turbo let go and sent shrapnel through the hood and into the stands. Its horrifying. Fleece is another one, aurora, list goes on. And worse, theyre charging sometimes 2 and 3000 dollars for these counterfeit units. Its deplorable. My friend that will be building my next unit will be doing so using my genuine holset oem turbo. Let me know if you would like to know who this is. As stated, his company and himself, have also been sounding the alarm to this absolute cancer in the industry.

On my opinion aurora is definitely not a fake turbo, the offer like 3 years warranty on their turbos, factory oem don’t last longer.

@jordanknute2029 Just seen this comment somehow. It is unfortunate how misguided so much of the industry is right now. And we are not trying to point fingers in a disrespectful way, but trying to help people understand better about how to select products. But most are blinded by branding & marketing.

We are only providing more info & transparency to the market so folks can make an informed decision on the kind of products they want to spend their money on. Usually this is viewed as a positive thing. Many others in the industry seem to disagree unfortunately. The genuine OE manufacturers(Holset, Garrett, borgwarner etc) have their brand marks/part numbers cast into the housings. Aftermarket upgrades that do not have those markers are sourced from many cheaper 3rd party carbon copy turbo manufactures. Longer warranty policies can be nice, but often provide a false sense of security. Most qualifying warranty type failures will usually happen within a years time. Warranty can be potentially denied for any number of things (even seen from major OE manufactures) but if you are lucky since the carbon copy turbos are usually less than a third of the cost of an OEM, a company might just offer a free replacement to keep everything quite. The profit margins are certainly there to support it! Hope we were able to provide some more insight. All the best. 👍

What do you think about Calibrated Power 2017-2023 L5P DURAMAX STEALTH MACH 1 64MM DROP IN VGT TURBO Is there anyway you can setup a review of this turbo on a 20-23 GMC 3500. Are there any benefits compared to stock turbo with and without a tune for towing about 14k trailer up the ike gauntlet colorado? Mainly passing power, EGT temps, DEF usage and fuel economy. Maybe also look at around town unloaded drivability fuel and DEF economy?

If you don’t want to single out one company, maybe you have a lineup of 64mm drop in VGT turbos to compare performance. I just don’t want to waste money and really don’t see good independent reviews.

@@Upsidedownfoodpyramid Right. We are not trying to to attack any individual companies. Only trying to provide useful information and insight for folks to make the best decision for themselves if they are seeking the best quality for their money. Genuine quality turbos from Borg, Holset, Garrett etc will have the logo & serial numbers cast on the turbo from cover, center, exhaust. Aftermarket turbos that do not have these markers are sourced from "3rd party" companies producing carbon copies of the OE models at a cheaper cost that are simply imported on pallets. If you do not see the OE brand markers on a particular turbo upgrade, chances are it is a cheaper aftermarket copy turbo being used. For us specifically - In some cases we have ground off brand lettering to allow custom laser printing on the covers, but will still find key OE brand markers upon the rest of the turbo. For certain select models we might source aftermarket covers, but in most applications they are all OE. We offer an efficient Stage 1 GXR 64 (63.7) drop in built using the genuine borgwarner turbo.

😂 We must be making you nervous... Liars and schemers hate the truth. We have multiple sources for wheel development and KTS is actually a good company not from China utilized by many companies. Our wheels are custom designed with 1 or 2 that were mistakenly not listed as private from catalogs, but you wouldn't know that unless you have been spying on our designs. Thanks for confirming our suspicions, as we have seen other "builders" adopting some of our turbo designs well after they have been in circulation... Keep hiding behind your dummy accounts. Top notch behavior by so called professionals. 🤦‍♂
