Also the reason why I asked the hot take question was less about what they said and more so how they said it… Rob spoke too confidently about gang banging for me to think he was a white guy.
I feel like this video just points out how even within marginalized communities, there are stereotypes. Like Brevin getting out over Rob because Brevin sounded "priviledge".
It proves that we force our own stereotypes onto each other. Brevin said he's been treated as too white for black people, too black for white people. We really need to stop gatekeeping each other!
Stereotypes are normal. It's a part of how humans process this much information every day. It's impossible to be rid of them, it's just knowing that people are more complicated than that and not having any hostile or demeaning impressions as a result of that and gatekeeping things
Also, just because you don't talk like someone doesn't mean they're privileged either. That's how a lot of people love acting like whit.e people are so privile.ged
"What questions would you ask?" - Syd "If I was one of the participants?" - Toast "Hmmm Hmmm" - Syd **Trying not to laugh** - Toast This man got a question that would cancel him for sure 🤣
The way he reacted when Syd asked if the mole says the n-word made me think Toast was going to ask the other participants if they could say the n-word right then and there. Mutually assured destruction.
@@serapepetoast did that gaslight tactic so many times in among us and also does that everyday irl... M sure he would throw them under the bus if they get suspicious of them. 5 head toast 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What I really like about this clip is that it also greatly demonstrates racial bias. Toast and Syd pointing out that he might be putting up a voice, that the problem/story of “Milk” wasn’t as heartfelt of an issue. But those things are all part of who they were. He’s been through the system, his story rings true to him, what he talks about seems to be who he is but it feels like their person is a persona simply because we don’t know the context.
I loved the brotherhood amongst those men in the video. It really made me happy just to see some wholesome bonding and their knowledge on current issues.
ngl, I had to go watch the original to focus on what they were talking about rather than having toast and syd talking over them, then came back hear to hear their comments on the show.... After watching it without toast and syd's reactions, it was pretty believable to me that he could fit in, it's just that in this video, their reactions made me think the guy was forcing it too much when he actually wasn't. As someone said in the original video, they managed to find the most black white guy out there for this
Exactly syd tryna push that he’s pretending and stuff HE AINT especially about gang bangin I hated seeing Milk get made fun of by her for it, she racist as hell for thag
@@lmeonliver1864 So glad I got to see this comment cause the way Syd was acting is the pure definition of racism. She immediately thought he was trying to act black versus his upbringing being struggle that's relatable to the black community. HE WAS LITERALLY RAISED IN A BLACK FAMILY. Even when Toast told Syd this, she still brushed it off as if it isn't possible, or she felt too 'entitled' to being black that it isn't fathomable that someone was just genuinely speaking on what he knew. Privileged is the way she was acting and it's lowkey cringe.
Wow what is this? The third video of Toast dropped within 24 hours??? Dream comes true. (for those who wonder, he dropped one on his main, and one on team liquid channel)
Sydney had such a bad case of confirmation bias, it's easy to point out Rob's answers when you know it's him and you can nitpick his answers. It's much harder when you have a blindfold on and you don't have a clue who it is so you're suspicious of everyone.
I find it really insightful that all of them didn't like the victimization of black people. Like they want to their struggles to be acknowledged, but they know the black community could be doing more to improve their situation and make things better. Spits right in the face of "black people are lazy" arguments.
I think this vid jubilee did had a rule of not saying the N word. Coz no one said the N word once in this video and I mean it's unfair. get cancelled or win the $ yknow.
Seems like a weird personal thing she has going on. Being offended that black people don't automatically know if other people are black or not is not normal.
I agree with her on the "gangbanging" question. It's a problem but it's also the most generic answer possible, like the first thing a white dude might think of. The other's responses were way deeper and are legitimate issues that most non-black folk wouldn't think of
@@mugiwara7116???? He gave that answer because HE HIMSELF was a gangbanger. He's a 74 Hoover. That was his life, of course that'd be the first thing that comes to his head.
As a white guy, I can say we do the pursed lips head-nod thing to every guy we walk by that we don't know, never was racist or even disrespectful, just an acknowledgment.
I wish I could find a way to express this without sounding defensive lol. Anyone I'm not deeply familiar with gets the 'pursed lips quarter-smile with a small nod' if we make eye contact, I was genuinely surprised the first time I heard a black guy talk about feeling negatively when getting that expression from white people.
also the gangbanging answer is legit in the california prison system ( speaking from expierence) youre very much pressured to group up with your race regardless of street affiliation , altho that only extends to prison really less so county
Yea Syd couldn't relate because she's privileged. Her responses are pretty disgusting when it comes to racism, considering she thought everyone would "know he was white" based on his answers being so "basic and evasive" when in reality she's never had hardship and it really shows.
that was definitely one of those situations where he clearly has way more knowledge of what that side of life is like than she ever will, you can just tell by the way he carries himself that he's been through some shit.
Privileged as fuck and almost has no ability to ever say she relates to black struggle. Her struggle is no where near the rest of the black communities.
Yea he says the N word. Talks about it in an interview, guy respects it though and tries not to use it around his homies. But still doesn't have any issues dropping it in convo.
Rob is literally talking, but editor did a bad job and showed other people, when Rob is talking. I notice a lot of these reactions say he is not talking, but he is. Lol Milk is black
syd should put on a blindfold next time, i dont think shed be such a critic if she couldnt see the correct answer right in front of her face. Its easy to laugh and point things out when you already have all the information.
regarding the gang answer, i think he was going to say, "but then if i go to jail, i gotta be with the white guys even though i don't know them," but then he realized that would give him away.
Every time people watch this they say “the white guy barely talked.” Yes he did! He is soft spoken so you miss it a lot but if you pay close attention he actually talked quite a lot.
Which is another issue in the black community. A strong family unit can sometimes be seen as "less black" to other black folk. As we see when Brevin gets voted out immediately when he said that. Having two parents AND being Queer? Bro was screwed over by our own stereotypes🤦🏾♂️
@@mugiwara7116i mean tbf, the two suburban dudes sided with Bevin, and the two who talked about also struggling voted for Milk. they both voted for what they knew, and it was probably a bit of empathy too for Rob, they probably don't want to vote a potentially poorer black person out over a financially stable one
This is very easy for the White guy since he was raised that way. He's basically black with a white skin. . But if the mole is not related to black at all, it would be too difficult as well. . So yeah i don't know. 🤣
No one's gonna comment about the fact they are literally talking over the video and it's really hard to understand them ánd the contestants at the same time?
i wouldn't be surprised if he did say the n word. im from south central too and absolutely literally everyone says it around here despite being black or not. :/ (i don't say it since branching out of here but most ppl stay in their bubbles yknow)
As someone from south central, it really depends on his mom, if she’s cool with it he’s saying it and not stopping. If she wasn’t playing that game it’s not coming out his mouth. I wanna say most people, especially older non black millennials feel entitled to it.
