I got my first set of stamping gel polishes yesterday and had a very similar experience! My first stamper wouldn't pick up anything. I had better luck with an older clear stamper I had roughed up a little. Thank you for this video. There's so many "tutorials" for this with no words.
Giiirrrrllllll you have no idea how much this video has helped my frustrations 🤣 my husband bought me the gel nail stamping kit “which I asked for” for at least four hours I was messing w it and I’m like this can not be this difficult!!! I did what everyone does and RU-vidd it and stumbled onto this video, thankfully. I got mine to work however it is messy and complicated however it does a nice pattern once you get the hang of it. Thank you for the video I thought I was going crazy lol happy 2021 !!!
I have never, until I tried that stamping gel, gotten so mad from something I had to walk away when it comes to stamping. Those particular gels were horrid, and NONE of the videos showing them, at that time, actually showed people picking up the images. It was a true exercise in frustration! The Uber Chic stamping gel is muuuuuch better! I have a video on those too! I’m sorry you struggled, but it IS nice to know you’re not alone! 😁

Something I did was a gel mani and stamped regular polish over it, it was the only way I’ve been able to stamp at all yet since I could wipe away my mistake! Thank you for this video I was about to try these and I would prob give up on stamping forever
I'm going to try this with some gel paints I have. I've been stamping over 10 years now. I can say that even though most people don't like metal scrapers cause they scratch the plates... they work better. I do not like those cards. The design has to be clear to pick up. My old konad scraper is my fav.
Those particular gel stamping polishes were awful. After many years have gone by, I think just painting, and them topping with a gel topcoat is the best way to go!
Future viewers: As I have previously addressed IN THE VIDEO, I tried scraping this product every direction and every angle possible. I tried scraping this for over an hour. You may also refer to the video on the Uber Chic stamping polish where the experience was completely different. This was not ME, this is not a good product in MY OPINION. I just found you, I now subscribe to your channel. I have just been trying to use born pretty stamping gel, I bought 6. I gave up after half an hour. I just couldn't do it. Maybe I need a harder stamper. I could cry. I'll get another stamper and see how it goes. Everyone else seems to be able to use them except me. :-( xx
Can do but will most likely need to have a lot of precision and going over it a good few times to make it opaque since the gel polish comes off as really faded I attempted it last night to pre make decals instead of doing it straight onto the nail it came out with the correct picture but very faint and the fails are due to the amount aswell as the kit itself not being of any quality reminds me of those cheap kids kits you can get dirt cheap
That’s exactly it. That brand was crap. Uber Chic has a nicer one. I have a video on that too. But, if you’re stamping, use can just use regular stamping polish and gel coat on top of it.
Ok so I'm just starting to do my nails again and was looking for things to do with gel nails. This doesn't look fun. But I saw someone else who used stamping polish (which I still have to find) and just covered with gel polish to seal it in. I may try both. Wish me luck. Also have to find a true beginners stamp. I'm down a RU-vid rabbit hole
I have a whole playlist on beginner stamping. You can use stamping polish and seal it with a gel topcoat. I also have a part 2 showing the Uber Chic gel stamping polish and I liked those a lot better!
While I very much appreciate your opinion, I tried scraping every way, used various cards, and tried different amounts of polish. I literally spent over an HOUR trying to get a solid pick up, so no, I’m going to maintain it’s a crap polish. Sorry, not sorry. I tried Uber Chic and their polish was infinitely better.
Thank you! I always try to be honest, hopefully without being mean! These products deserved the mean! I’ve never been so frustrated stamping that I walked away and came back the next day. The first time I stamped went better than using these. 🤦🏻♀️
Any nail polish that is opaque in 1 quote should be fine for stamping, but I do prefer stamping it polish to make sure the job gets done! Gel is a whole other beast though!
I tried gel for my first try doing stamps, and it was an absolute nightmare. I do not!!! recommend trying this. After a year of throwing it in the box, I bought maniology set and am going to try again today. I will not let this win!
Did you use gel stamping polish when you first tried it or regular gel? You’ll get the hang of it. I have a whole beginners playlist if you want to look for a few things that might help!
All my stampers are clear 😟. Can you still buy opaque stampers? I have some gel polishes, I should play with those.. I’m glad you did all the struggling so we don’t have to. I got my Mani X Me box today - so my challenge now is to wear a Christmas mani. In November 😬. Lol
You can buy opaque stampers! Just take a look an Amazon. Keep in mine though, these are specifically formulated for stamping, so I don’t know if regular gel polish would work! I’m so excited you have the Mani x Me box! Make sure you post it so I can see!!! 😍
I love it that I ran across this video and well now I know it will be a learning process to do this and I have a set coming this week so I'm glad I have a few days coming up that I can learn how to do this the right way and not take hours just to do designs with a brush.

I explained in the video that I spent over an hour scraping this gel polish in a ton of different ways to get it to work. So much that I got mad and left it for the night. This gel is not good. I have a different video on Uber Chic gel that shows a much better one!

It was A LOT of work to figure it out, but one I did it was fine! I do think the company recommending it to beginners is way off, and they really need better directions on their website!
@@JilliesNails lol that was a struggle for sure! I did give it a try the other day just to see if it would work and I used modelones gel nail polish. It did pick up and it stamped but the image wasn't very clear. It looked very faded.
@@elishaadushi The reason you use 100% acetone on the plate is because nail polish removers can have an additive that is oil based and will leave an oily residue. Acetone does not do that.
