Has anyone come across any events like this, anywhere in the world? Please let me know if so! This event has achieved so much by getting people to compete, especially in their 60's and 70's. If people can start competing at that age, it shows everyone that they can start to boulder at any age, and that is what my channel is all about :)

As a 51 year old climber who started at the age of 40, it’s great to find out there are other older climbers who are passionate. Such a shame I missed the comp.

i usually just flop my belly over to top out, like a penguin or whale :D what a cool idea for a competition! it is so inspiring to see older people climb and have fun!

Coming from Norway next year! never seen anything like this before. can't compete with the 19 year olds, but will attempt to kick ass in the 50+ category.

This is lovely. Great atmosphere and camaraderie. The one time I wished I was older. Hopefully this will become a regular yearly event

Thank you for inviting me along to this event. I really enjoyed it, especially the vibe on the day. As Katie says, it's really good to climb with other women and other people of a similar age group....but please make it easier next year (some of us haven't been climbing since the 80s 😉 ).

On a competition like this, I can actually see men and women competing with each other. If the boulders are set fairly for reach.

What a great idea. At my gym ,they do have age category winners but everyone climbs the same blocks, and it can feel a bit intimidating at 61yrs old when im struggling on a problem and all the youngsters are just flashing the same one. Great video. Thanks for your content its very encouraging for us older climbers.

Same here about normally climbing together, this was the first time I’ve seen otherwise. What are your adult age categories if you’re not in the UK? Here it’s normally just 18+ and sometimes 45+ Thanks for watching!

@OnTheCrux I'm in the UK. It's 16+ and 50+. So I'm at the top end of age group. My First comp I came last, but the next two I improved (slightly). As they say "It's not winning but taking part that counts".

subbed. btw have you thought about doing board climbing? it is very intensive on the fingers but i find it to be very efficient at improving finger strength and core tension. kilter board is more beginner friendly, however moonboarding is my go to.

Thanks! I tried the kilter board about six months ago and it was humbling! I planned to use it more, but I’m normally too tired to do it at the end of a session, and I forget at the start when all the newly reset colourful boulders are calling to me! I do think that my core and finger strength are probably what’s holding me back so I should try again, and that’s good advice!
