Happy Friday! Today we’re going to react to a new Jubilee video where three people try to guess whether each of the masked people that they meet is black or white by reading their mannerisms and asking them questions. I feel like I’m going to be pretty good at this, but let’s see how it goes!

@@l2sunshine173social media doesn't accurately represent all of American culture I live in Oklahoma in the US and my experience there is more than just one culture in the US. Like the US is made up of a variety amount of cultures all mixed up into one and depending on which part of the US you're in you'll see a different side of America. For example in Hollywood they are very political whereas where I live in Oklahoma is mostly country and not really as political and has totally different values than California but I can see how people who don't live in the US can only see American culture being obsessed with political things when that just isn't entirely the case

Ya know, hearing Amala talk about sneakers made me realize there's a huge flaw in this experiment, what the blue people are wearing. For the record 52:31 an upside down American flag is not always a sign of disrespect or of protestation....it is in fact the official governmental designation within the U.S. Flag Code that a U.S. flag should only be flown upside down 'during times of grave danger or great distress'. This can apply to a citizen who believes their country is in the shitter and displays an upside down on on their front fence, or to a punk ass anti-nationalist who thinks they're being cute. Because why? Because This Is America. Traditionally it was used as a means of warning for anyone looking that direction (not necessarily on a national level), as an S.O.S. in variable situations or to announce any trouble in the area. These are just some examples.

When a person sings- any natural accent will usually disappear. Music,& singing is a universal experience that truly binds us all together as one.

Aa far as music goes, blacks typically know nothing about metal or classic rock, but these genres aren't well known to young whites either these days. In the 80s or 90s you could easily have determined who was white by simply asking them to name srome classic rock and metal bands.
@shayla1939
@shayla1939 15 дней назад
My childrens father is black, raised in Atlanta in a predominantly black area, he listens to heavy metal and could name multiple bands. He also listens to some rap and oldies. Really almost anything except country music.

@@shayla1939 Well sure it's not that there are no black fans of metal or classic rock. It's just the one exception and not the rule. Those genres aren't particularly popular amongst whites under 40 either.

"The sound of Hope" is about a village that took on all foster children within a 100 mile radius with support of their local church. It is based on a true story and shows the hardship and the brokenness of the children, but also how the forster parents did not give up. I have not watched it yet, but trailer and clips look promising... .. Heart breaking but good.

How long does it take to do your hair is a good question. Huge difference. To wash dry and detangle my hair takes 20 min tops. But my children are mixed and their father is black, all have long hair, wash day for all three of them takes soooo long, damn near all day if i braid all of their hair the same day. Also, I have always worn jordans. Where i grew up among my generation, there was little to no observable difference between how the white kids and black kids dressed. This video was interesting. Recently found your channel and I love it ❤❤❤

UK here. In a word, yes. Not 100% of the time, obviously, but it's definitely possible to tell if someone is black without seeing them...or even hearing them in some cases. Years ago, back when AOL was still a thing, a friend of mine had been chatting to someone online - no pics, no calls, just words on a screen (it was the '90's - uploading and downloading anything took forever). She, wasn't sure whether she liked him or not and sent me a sample of their convo and asked me what I thought. I said I thought he sounded really respectful, intelligent and creative. And, that I got a sense he was black. There was nothing specific I could point to and say, "Because of x, y or z". There was just something about the way he used words and put his sentences together. I think was a cultural thing - like when I read Nelson Mandela's book, Long Walk to Freedom, and I could 'hear' Mandela's voice as I read his words. I think this guy wrote like he spoke. And, at some level, I picked up on it. Aaand a few days later my speculations were proved correct. I've also done it a few times on my own behalf. One guy nearly wrong-footed me when he told me he was into motorbikes (I don't know why but motorbikes seem to be a white guy thing for the most part for some reason) but then he sent me a pic of his kids. They were both gorgeous and clearly mixed race. I think it helps that I have an eye for detail which, as superpowers go, has been a mixed blessing over the years - there are plenty of things I'd have preferred NOT to have seen 😆

Amala, you have a white nose. You have that classic roman nose. We have pointy noses, while black people have flat noses like you said, which as an artist is actually a hot topic because black people look different than white people and so it was really interesting hearing you make that observation as if it was just something you feel when it is something I have heard lots about! I'm white and I knew black people had different noses! There are so many different noses, noses are a great way to tell different races apart. Though pre George Floyd I was the most color blind person ever (unless you count my grandpa and cousins who are actually color blind) and still hold pretty to that, so I couldn't tell you what the differences are for other races.

Interesting what you said about wearing shoes in the house. I live in Ontario, Canada. We always remove our shoes when entering anyone’s house including our own. I suspect it’s because we have winter and remove our winter boots before entering a house and I think it’s just a habit we use throughout the year. However I notice when I was in England visiting family and every one keeps their shoes on in their houses or switches and wear slippers. I always take my shoes off and only wears slippers in the winter to keep me feet warm. I’m white btw 😊

It's me Amala, the the rare white girl that wore Jordans. Grew up deep in the woods, went to school in a small town. Not religious. And I hated Converse and Vans because any shoe with a white base wouldn't make itself look dirty so fast when you're outside and I despised it. Also I just like taller shoes, gives me better ankle support when I'm doing stupid sh*t.
