Can you use cheap (or free) vintage lenses on a modern cinema camera? Let's find out!!

Some corrections, the superzoom lens was most likely not a "kit" lens (it is most likely made by Kobori) as it was manufactured by a third-party lens brand. Also, the weird bokeh is due to the internal fungus. As for the Zeiss lens, it is unfortunately not a Zeiss lens, looking at the general construction, it is most likely a rebranded Sigma Mini Wide 28mm f/2.8 II. Zeiss Jena was selling off their brand name to highest bidder during their later years.

5:12 you've got some hope, yet! I pulled out my 200mm f/3.5 Asahai Takumar today and got some lovely shots of an airshow :) (though to be fair I probably also spent more than I should have on it lol)

Oh, you mention the softness of the vintage glass, did you set the aperture to be the same for the sigma and the vintage stuff? 7:54 I see what looks like a different depth of field between the two shots.

Yes! I tried to match aperture when shooting on the sigma. I hadn't noticed that actually but you're right, it might just be down to the softness of the pentax lens or I might not have exactly matched the focal length. I remember having trouble matching aperture with the 35-200mm because it was stuck at f:3.8 and I only had access to f:3.5 or f:4 on the sigma. But the shot you mention is the 28mm prime anyway. Some further investigation might be in order!
