A harder version of this challenge would be only being able to add a relic if it matches the rarity of one of the cards you get in your card pool. So if you only get common cards, you can only get a common relic, and so on.

Yeah I think this would have been a good rule to add, either this or a random relic instead of being able to pick and choose, maybe do both. The relic matches the rarity of the card and is random.

As with the "any card, no relics" run, there's so many ways to exploit the game if you have ultimate freedom in just one capacity. It makes up for basically any other handicap, but relics are the most powerful part of that puzzle.

You could modify and raise the difficulty level by making it so you choose from 3 random relics instead of three random cards :)

Need to re-do this run with restrictions on the quantity of relics per floor. There's a reason cards are cheap and relics are expensive. 🤣

Before getting into the actual run I’d start with prayer wheel so I get two options for relics immediately. Then strike dummy to power up my attacks

In the other challenge there was no way to stack up the “choose whatever card you want” - like was done with the shop - buy card exploit. Cant fault frost for getting to his bag

5:30 technically failed challenge here because you added courier immediately after purchasing deadly poison, but then you counted it again when recounting your purchases to determine the number of relics you could add, giving you an additional relic. Love the video, and the content, just wanted to note this.

Getting any relic makes it nearly impossible to lose the game... It should be random with duplicates possibly rolled and if you get a duplicate, you get nothing. Just like with cards :D

You could have saved some time by playing custom mode with vintage turned on. You would not get to pick the relics but it would have saved a lot of card removes.

I don't know why Frost didn't do this vanilla, like, just a normal run but not allowed to take cards. Although while it is doable, it would take who knows how many tries to actually win an A20 run with a starting deck

Without any additional rules for adding relics: no, absolutely not, I am confident that it’s impossible no matter the seed. Maybe on low ascensions you could clear acts 1-3, but there’s no way you’re beating the heart xd

I think I’d prefer to see this run instead of adding relics anytime you add a card, instead you get to add relics as if you got the exact one you would want every time. Like, if you got the perfect relics at every opportunity, could you beat the game without adding/removing cards.
