I'm still waiting for a tablet with wireless charging and ruggedized. Not the ones with the exposed brass contacts, but the type that uses an inductive charging base. Amazon has one, but I hate all the bloatware they make you accept, and I really hate all the tracking and spyware they include. They advertise a certain amount of memory but don't tell you that they are going to be using up a bunch for their crap. I'm hoping that maybe Samsung will come out with a rugged wireless charging tablet with lots of power and memory this January at CES. Time will tell.

Ya they are the worst if you want non or very few one plus is the tablet you want. There also another new company that's making phones with no bloat, but I can't remember the name, but think they are starting with phones first.
@@Jon-ki2px I have to wait and see really. There are ways to remove google and other OS software and other programs to replace it with as an option. I obviously haven't looked too deep into any of them yet because of the charging tech that I'm looking for. Thanks for the heads up about Samsung though. I appreciate it.
I've had the BV9800 Pro since 2017. It's been awesome to have the FLIR camera to see thermal, but the ruggedness has been only moderately good. I'm clumsy and dropped it a few times, when the screen finally got a small chip on the side (not a crack, just a small chip on the edge) but apparently the drops messed up the screen bad enough that it flickered constantly and wouldn't sense my touches. Took it into a phone shop and they had to order a new screen from eBay, which looked used, but it's worked ever since. I think the biggest issue is that I had to fight to get it onto VZW, as they claim it doesn't work on their network, though it has SOME of the 4G LTE bands... which does mean zero signal in some places that don't have those bands available. I'm probably going to move to a more well-known brand when I upgrade.
Really an impressive one especially with its tough body that can tackle harsh environment and drops, and also gives a next level gaming experience for the user with the helio G99 chipset. Pretty impressive!!
I just had to drop over $400 on a used iPad, screen protector and Otter Box case for my delivery job. I would have checked this tablet out if I knew about it weeks ago😮💨
For memory expansion go to settings then about tablet, then select RAM... you'll then see memory expansion. Then slide to the desired RAM. What I can't find out is how to reverse charge with it since its also said to be a power bank.
I've been using Blackview phones for the last couple years and have been happy with them overall. They are rugged and if you good about closing unused apps they have great battery life - I get 3 days on a charge if I turn off the junk and just use it as a phone and for text. If you are buying it as a camera or gaming device, get something else. But if you are using it to surf and work, I've never had an issue. I wish I could load a degoogled OS like LineageOS, but so far that is unavailable.
I've got a Samsung Active 2 ruggedized tablet - it's an older tablet. It has a nice removable heavy duty case - the removability is important since the battery can be easily replaced. One thing I didn't see in the ad is what are the expected software updates? Samsung updated the version of Android a couple of times and until about a year ago was doing quarterly security updates.
Definitely underestimating this tablets potential! Ive had this since they first announced it on there website. The way you expand there Memory is through O.S. virtualization in which once you get the full 16GB this Tablet for us flies. Wel also use it daily for our Diagnostics on vehicles. Maybe we'll shake off the T.V. Stage fright and make a video 😅 But definitely dont underestimate this tablet just saying 😎
Can you confirm something for me... Upon doing a Soft Reset... Do you see 2 white spots on the lower left corner of the screen for 1 second then disappear... This is during the first Powered by Android screen.
I seriously doubt that memory is upgradable. I don't know how it would be, even if you were to completely disassemble it the ram these days is always soldered on to the board right next to the chip to get read write times as fast as possible. However I don't think that's an issue. That thing is built for like construction workers or environments like inside a distribution center for Enterprise applications to run on, it is never going to need extremely high specs because it's not for gamers ECT...
I have a cheap, ruggedized Oukitel tablet, design is so similar to this Blackview I'm guessing HW+SW is coming out of the same China factory. Anyways on the 'Memory Expansion / Virtual RAM' that is just manufacturer enabling a Linux swap partition on the flash drive. There's no actual extra RAM for an application to use, but if you're switching between applications some backgrounded apps that standard Android may have normally killed due to RAM optimization may get 'hibernated' to the swap partition. Downside is lots of extra wear on the flash drive.
@@RoaldKoger I think it's perfect if just left alone and used for specialized tasks, such as the use you mentioned. If you use it for common daily tasks, it's not good: the operating system has little customization, many apps seem incompatible and have display problems. But for its price, it's still worth buying.

The problem with seemingly incompatible apps often lies in the fact that these Chinese vendor tablets are not certified by Google and their hardware ID is thus not recognized by the Play Store. It's annoying, but there are workarounds. Anyway, I decided to go with a similar product from a different vendor.🙂
