Toronto walk around Sky Tower Pinnacle One Yonge, soon to be Canada's tallest building. More info below.
Thanks for watching!
Please subscribe and like, thanks for the support.
--------------------------------
Pinnacle One Yonge is a mixed-use development currently under construction.
Along with Sky Tower, the community will feature three residential towers, a 50,000-square-foot community centre operated by the City of Toronto, two office buildings and a 2.5-acre public park.
The building known as the SkyTower will be Canada's tallest building at 105 storeys and 346 metres.
It will be the first building in Canada to exceed 100 storeys.
SkyTower will potentially be the tallest residential building in the world by floor count.
The building will be mostly hotel for its first 12 storeys, with residential condo suiltes starting above.
There’s also direct access to the indoor PATH network connecting much of the downtown core.
A mechanical damper system at the top provides a counter-weight system for the winds such that the entire structure will sway less than two feet.
Those at the top will be able to gaze westward into the main observation deck of the CN Tower.
With a tapered top, the 12 sides catch light in a strategic way to highlight the dimension and profile as the day goes on.
Prices start in the low $900,000s for 500 square feet.

Looks like it’s going to be a very tall building with a lot of glass windows. Interesting.

This is going to be an epic building. The renders look great. So far it’s going up and a great pace. If it weren’t for its size and the bright white trim going up the sides and the lower bio mechanical like look on that lower part… it might have blended in to much. Great addition. But torontonians really want more building with a solid look not all glass. Like what we use to build in the 80s. With a heavier look. I think. Many say they hate the all glass towers but they never give great examples of what’s possible to build and cheaply in this newer age of condos and towers. Classy is what I’d call the older buildings of Toronto. The ones from very early 1900s. The true gems that are left. I personally don’t think we’ll ever get such nice details again like in the past. Not sure why though. Those looks can be done very cheaply now. And many done using molds for details. But I digress. We need to voice what we want rather then what developers think most want. They really do t seem to be In Touch with real people. And what they want. Most don’t want balconies. Look at a skyline image and count the balconies being used. And most have no furniture… tells a lot. Meaning anyone enjoying a balcony would have chairs and tables at the least right. Common sense to use what you pay for.. but.., here we are.
@dgabit
@dgabit 13 дней назад
Yes a lot of people don't like the all glass look every condo seems to have, but I'm assuming it's just very cost effective, concrete core with glass cladding, and it probably works great for tall buildings. Sky Tower with the tapered top and high reflective glass should change throughout the day as the different light hits it. Yes we will probably never go back to the old style buildings, but it's good they are trying to incorporate the old buildings cladding into the new buildings taking it's place, keeping some history alive. I think people like the idea of a balcony, but we have short summers and the rest of year it's too cold to enjoy. Also most of them offer no privacy at all. Thanks for the comment!!

@jbc22112 10 дней назад
I totally agree with you. And I don't give a damn that these kind of glassy condo towers are cost effective, because if you want to have a world class city, you also need world class architecture, not this boring generic sh*t. You can put cheap looking buildings outside of downtown. I lived in downtown Vancouver for 2 years, which is full of these new condo buildings + ugly condos from the 70s which look like from Soviet Union, there are no impressive tall office buildings like in Toronto, so there is almost nothing to be impressed by, if you actually walk through downtown, I was bored to death from that kind of architecture. I'm from Europe and I don't think Canadians understand how beauty is important to have in their cities. And I actually love the old North American architecture and I was impressed by the office towers in Toronto, but recently I saw some video from the 80s Toronto and I thought it looked so much better than this new glassy version of Toronto. I mean, if you have to use glass, then at least make it beautiful, not generic like in China.

Can’t wait to see this beauty finnished one day along with the forma condos. They’ll be absolutely stunning. I hope once built people do t complain how shinny it will be. The renders have been out for quite some years now. Time to pay attention to what’s around and being built around a city. People do have a say. And have the power to stop awful projects. Just saying. Do everyth8ng to stop it if it’s going to be an actual eye sore… not just complain about them. Right makes logical sense other wise one wastes their breath for the sake of it. Pointless.

@@dgabit Don't forget (especially with the height)... things can come to a stop for more reasons than people think. Usually around 20 stories and above, wind can really become an issue, being exactly beside the lake, it may even be worse. Crane can't fly forms around in high winds, so that can stop building. Also fog can be an issue. Don't forget the crazy wind chills that can be up there! People feel cold in winter on the ground. I tell you... it's HORRIBLE up there! a calm day on the sidewalk can be a very windy day up there! Material can fly off the deck and un alive someone below, so weather is an important factor in speed of build!

The one tower which belongs to this group, sometime a little over 1 year ago, there was a video someone took with water pouring out of a balcony. I personally asked the sprinkler system boss about that video. What was happening there is this. The crew who are installing the fire sprinkler system have to check flow rates. At that elevation, that's what they were doing. Obviously that amount of water can't go down a toilet or bathtub.. The would run a hose out to a balcony and have the water running through the meter pour out and off the building. It happens on every building, this time it was just caught on video. I've worked on towers in T.O. So what I said is indeed truly what is happening. and now U know! One time, I didn't know either.

While I have these nervous feelings, there is another gentleman at the other side of the world who has the same feelings as me...only this time, the fearful predictions came true. And now there is civil unrest and chaos. Usually when this happens, someone would flee from that collapsed nation and move to the west (ie. USA, Canada) and warn everyone about how their society collapse, and urges everyone to pay attention. Unfortunately, little attention is usually received because of course we live in a TikTok age, etc. And as a result, we could be doomed to repeat the same mistakes as those other collapsed nations.
