I used Toronto Pearson last month and it was smooth. I think people just need to be genuine and get their docs handy. I think it’s just the normal thing, questions are asked in every port of entry, I came into Canada about a week ago and was asked exactly same questions in Toronto airport all you need is have all your documents handy and be bold in answering all the questions you are asked and be genuine. There is no need being afraid once you are sure of the purpose of your trip then you are good. I’ve been to several countries and it’s almost same questions at every port of entry. God help us.

You're right. They do this randomly. It happens to me almost every time I visit Yankee. And in 2019 I was deported and my visa revoked with 5 years ban. Meanwhile that was my 9th visit with that one making my second in that year within 4 months. BTW, I wasn't residing in nigeria.
That because they have noticed that people with visas usually refused to go back to where they came from. Majority stayed and seek asylum they are just trying to close that gap before it becomes a gateway for migrants.

Qatar, Dubai, Canada, France and the world favour Indian over Africans. Indians are more likely to get a visa over Africans with the same criteria. That's what the world turn into now.

Stop the foolishness. I had my phone check at Toronto Airport in 2006 when I flew in from NYC due to my response to questions from immigration officers. I was a resident of US and my friend in Canada was undocumented, so i was hesitant to provide information about my visit. I had similar thinking then yelling at the officer as a Nigerian, but after 20years in US, I understand reason for it. If your intention for coming into the country is good, you will have no issues responding to immigration questions. You are granted student visa or visitor visa but your true intention is to stay in the country. Guilty mind always fear the truth

I applied for Canada visiting Visa August 2023 and my visa came out by December same year. I later found out that coming over as a student would be much better than just visiting but even as that I had visiting Visa already. So I applied in a school, which I have gotten admission this May 2024. The confusing part I would like you to advise me is , should I entered Canada with my visiting Visa and do flag pole or should I apply for study permit which I don't know the possibility of having it since I already had visiting Visa on my passport since December? I think the best thing to tell our people is to be truthful, if you are coming for tourist, come visit and go back and then you may have build your status to return and subsequently ask for permanent residency. If you are coming to study, go to school and graduate, then you stand a better chances of integrating into the system.
