Canada's immigration security has been under fire after a summer of high-profile terror threats.
The West Block host Mercedes Stephenson speaks with the minister in charge of the immigration file, Marc Miller, who says Canada's screening is up to par.
But when asked about student visas, other concerns arise.

I have heard a lot about this. A young server recently told me of the abusive work environment, but she couldn’t leave because of high housing costs and lack of options. No one wanted a young worker.

An Indian guy was working on our jobsite the other day. Really nice guy. This was when the news of the Wasaga beach stuff was going on. He told us they are for sure pooing on the beaches because they do it everywhere at home. He then proceeded to tell us he got into Canada by claiming to be a gay couple with his brother and Canada asked no questions and let them in. So this dude is a blatant liar.

Besides higher English requirements, Canada 🇨🇦 also needs to check for national security risks. - Many Chinese students don't come to Canada to study, but to grab Canadian intellectual properties and to *launder corrupt money by buying up big houses.*

Go to a country where visas are required. See the hoops you have to jump through to do this. Three month visas, extensions possible up to 6 months. then depart country or face fines and deportation. Thats what tourists in another country have to go through.

They go to student expired work permits holders that claim asylum in order to stay and get $10,000 cash start up funds for new clothes, furniture while also getting back dates gst, child tax benefits etc. at the same time they are filling out paper work to bring their spouses and extended family members here . They used to flag pole but the students can’t but all the rest still do 😡

There is zero and these Canadian biomeyrocs is just taking ur photo and fingerprint which isn’t crossed checked with anything . They can give themselves 10,000 dollars raises every 6 months but can’t do criminal checks because it would cost them money or make someone mad ? None of this should even be happening at all as Canadians can’t find jobs or places to live

Good question. No students do not need visas in order to come here . Pretend to go to school while driving uber , work permit expires and they used to just flag pole . Now they claim asylum while their countries are not at w@r 🙄 and get 10,000 bucks in start up funds for clothes, furniture plus all our health benefits and the child tax benefits etc
