Promise David is in a place with USG where he could excel and find himself wanted by clubs in one of the Big 5 leagues. He's on a similar path as Jonathan David and has a massive upside. I also think his desire is to play for Canada, so he's not a long-shot hope by any means.
Honestly, Sigur and Lopez would be both be amazing to get. Sigur will support our midfield (or Fullback in a pinch), and Lopez has some amazing technical abilities that we will need in a couple of years beside David.
Canada most needs added depth in the midfield, and none of these dual nationals fit that profile. Of course added depth anywhere is a good thing, but I don't see any of these players currently raising Canada's game, other than in depth.
Really hoping the Copa America run shows these young Canadians that they can make some noise with the national and sign up with the program sooner rather than later. It’ll only help to get them integrated into the squad and increase the squad depth.
I think since it will be expanded world cup. To keep the talent level up. I see FIFA allowing players who have not played within a full year leading towards the World Cup to play for another country. This will allow top talent not to be at home because of a silly mistake to believe there is loyalty. Once this happens, a lot of players will sign up for the opportunity to play at a World Cup.
We aren't convincing any of these guys to join us. We missed the boat with Luka, Daniel Jebbison has never cared to play for us, etc etc etc. Gauld makes no sense, if Scotland doesn't want him why should we chase him they aren't any better than us currently and he will be in his 30s by 2026 lol
@@jaytse2269 He'd be a great number 10 for our team, and a veteran that could help the younger guys. He could also be a sub or start the game...switch with Osorio (both are not getting any younger!)
@@jaytse2269 We have no one with the creativity and goal scoring Ryan Gould in attacking midfield. He would provides so many options. Right if Kone or Eustaquio get injured , we don't have quality back-ups.
