Canada wants to bring down the number of temporary residents in the country. It is further bringing down the number of study permits it will grant to foreign students. Canada is also tightening its foreign worker rules.

@@bjudy4886 well , some of them came illegally and do not even understand English. I met a lady from Mexico , she was not able to hold a basic conversation, she came illegally and she was a pr holder. What would be the merit on gambling the system in such a way.

Besides higher English requirements, Canada 🇨🇦 also needs to check for national security risks. - Many Chinese students don't come to Canada to study, but to grab Canadian intellectual properties and to *launder corrupt money by buying up big houses.*

This is not only the right move but it’s a move made 5 years to late in my opinion. I’m in the GTA and I swear many cities aren’t even Canadian anymore. You can’t have immigration coming from just one country that is a recipe for disaster, they not only need to limit immigration but diversify it as well so we can get people from all walks of life not just from the same place.

As a born & raised Canadian, I'd like to say Thank God!! My government has listened to the complaints of us Canadians and will be deporting over 70,000 international students & temporary foreign workers! Canadians are thrilled about this. So happy these ''people are being kicked out of our country. Canada has vowed to accept fewer foreign students in 2025 and today announced to even further cut the reduced numbers by another 10% This is what Canadians want. A big Thank You to my Canadian government!

@laureenchard4512 More needs to be done, e.g. a 5 year moratorium on international students, a per country quota system where all countries will be given the same maximum number of it's citizens to come to Canada on a temporary or permanent basis, for all immigration streams, etc.

I had a class of 40 students when I did my postgrad certificate. At least 75% of them were Indian and admitted they have no interest in the program. They just want PR. That’s where we are as a country.

yes they are to be tightened. People from other countries may not be aware of orderly behaviour. Besides only highly skilled and trained workforce is needed for countries development. @@samoday2992 students in the past would pay for the education with mostly money from India now they just pay for it using jobs they have in canada instead of bringing the money from outside it has less benefits not to mention there isn't enough jobs for actual canadians in the first place it also affects housing and canada is in a housing crisis plus on top of all of that india is just annoying to deal with politically like with the assassination so not worth the trouble for the money you do make we've been distancing ourselves more and more since then like haulting a trade deal
