Part two of our flight to Greenland. In this leg, we depart Goose Bay, Newfoundland (Canada) and cross the northern Atlantic Ocean to reach Narsasuaq, Greenland. Amazing views as we descend through the clouds to fly the circle to land on runway 24.
I was actually sick on this leg (suffering from a bad cold) so I wasn't able to run the cameras and assist in the cockpit as much as I'd like to have. Still, an amazing flight and credit should go to the pilot.
Didn't speak on this in the video but there should be some reference to Ernest Gann and his book Fate is the Hunter. He flew the same route many years ago and was a true pioneer in commercial aviation.
Departure:
CYYR
Destination:
BGBW Circle to Land 24

I am a new pilot, live in sugar land tx. Find flight videos to be quit boring. Find your videos to be quit excellent. Your are clearly skilled pilots with great production value.

Firebugshoes thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I appreciate the compliment. I try to make each video interesting. Are you training at Anson?

It was great watching this and imagining Gann flying that route all those years ago

I don't know if I mention it in this video but that's actually why we choose Narsarsuaq! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the comment. As cool as the video turned out, it's hard to capture the magnitude and beauty of the scenery up there. Glad you enjoyed!

Just found your channel. Thanks for sharing. I love Narsarsuaq. Premier1Driver has been there a couple times. Interesting to see it from a King Air point of view.

We actually watched Premier1Driver (and other's) videos on landing there to see what it looked like before we departed. Hoping this video helps others heading to BGBW in the future as well!

Hey, how are you? I have some questions about the tech stop in BGBW, can you please help me with that? Do you had to do any customs / immigration process for a tech stop? Do you used any handler to help you at airport? And is there any slot,. PPR, landing permit or OVF to land in there?

I did visit with Anson, however I was unable to pass the FAA Med Exam, so a sport certificate was my only option. Houston schools had all dropped sport, so I ended up training at U.S. Sport Aircraft in Addison TX (Dallas) in that they have a fleet of Czech Sport Cruisers (LSA) that they use for their private training. Therefore, my training, oral and check was all "private", but in an LSA. I took the written "sport" test at Anson, on crutches, less than 48 after a hip replacement with a pain drip hanging from my neck. Not me best decision, but the good people at Anson were all very nice. They only looked at me as if I was crazy and I must agree, it was. I passed.
