No, not at all: the whole procedure took us about 10 minutes at the doctors office. They accept credit card payments or cash. We made the payment, did the test and then came back for the paper copy of the results next evening. Everything is well organized, no lines, no waiting. You need to book the time of your test in advance at the guest service desk.

Yes, Air Canada is pretty easy to find, just come up to their stand as you pass the customs and they will direct you to their bus. The wait time at a la carts restaurants was about 10-15 minutes depending on the dish. The lines to get in aren’t that long: our routine was to get out of the beach by 5.30-6pm, shower and get treats for dinner at about 7pm, if you come a little earlier, you’ll get to pick the seats 😉 They do check your temperature before coming in as well as require everyone to wear face masks 😷
Hi Ola nice video I just have a quick question I am fully vaccinated I am actually travelling next month to Dominican Republic and I must say I’m sooo Greatful for your video because now I know all the steps to take , but I was wondering do you need to have a pcr test before entering as well I know coming back to Canada you do but wasn’t sure about leaving ? No, we didn't have to take the PCR test before going to the Dominican Republic, only before coming back to Canada as Canada requires the results of the test to be entered into the ArriveCanada app. Each hotel has a doctor and a nurse who will take your test and the results will be in next day. This was an initiative from the Dominican government to provide a possibility to take tests onsite in the hotels to keep the tourists coming in. Hope you have a great time in the Dominican Republic!
Alaina, hi! It took around 24 hours to get the results. I did it in the hotel clinic and they sent it directly to the lab. I had it done in the morning and the result was in next day in the evening.
