You are truly amazing. I had a lot of fun watching this video. You are truly a wonderful team. A successful fishing trip. I am from Morocco and I hold a diploma as a coastal fishing boat captain. When I saw this video, I wished I was working on the deck of your ship. It does not matter what position I work on the ship, the important thing is that I am part of this wonderful team
Excellent design for the crab pots with the net bottoms so they can be nested on the boat and in storage compared with the steel bottoms used in Alaska crab fishing. I would suggest making them square with four slopping sides and the plastic ring in the top. There is not as much wasted space on the boat with square traps compared with round ones, although round traps are stronger and take more abuse because any forces are distributed equally around the rings of steel
That's your opinion. The big steel crab pots are needed out in the deep Bering sea.If they could use smaller light weight pots they would be doing so. There is a reason for why they use them.
@@jase4270 You do realize those nets on those pots are likely woven from Dyneema or Spectra fiber which are 15 time stronger than steel by weight or they can be woven from smaller diameter line and be as strong as steel but much lighter in weight..... It is like Dyneema or Spectra braided fishing line is significantly stronger than mono for the the same line diameter.
