The city in Idaho where I live is on the flyway, and has a number off irrigation canals running through the county. We go through this twice a year. Watching the parents herding their little ones across roads and streets is absolutely the sweetest thing you could imagine.
Their brains are about the size of a grape. They have incredible instincts but are actually dumb birds. They pick thru and eat stuff that cows crap out. "Hot meals". Stuff a goose hunter says.
Here in southeast Michigan, we have an abundance of lakes, ponds, and marshes where numerous Canada Geese breed and raise families. Often the parents will brave traffic to cross roads with their goslings to reach water or grassy areas. Traffic always seems to stop and patiently allow them to go on their way. I've never seen anyone intentionally run one over. It's gratifying to witness.
This is one of those moments when you are both annoyed as a driver because it slows down traffic, but also smiling as a human because of how beautiful these creatures are.
The goose family is more cautious while crossing the road than humans....!!! The road users are appreciated for stopping while the birds cross the road....
@@ibrahimnasir4487 I know a woman that stopped for birds that weren't on the street yet and caused a big accident, she was found guilty of "stupid driving" Ha, I forget the real charge.
Adorable.I love how the geese would wait before crossing the street. They are so cute.I love how the cars would wait and let the family of geese cross the street.🦆
Hitting a goose that large could damage your car and would be one awful mess to clean up. Less hassle to just let em cross. Most drivers stop for them.
@@erictyson5947 I still remember the last little quail at the end that didn't make it. I slowed but the driver next to me couldn't be bothered to drop his speed. I remember the scretchy cry before it was hit. Some people care. We should care if call ourselves human.
If this was in Africa or China or the middle east, drivers would get out of the car to catch them for launch. Canadians always complain but they have no idea how savage the world is.
My neighbors and I helped a duck family across this busy road in order to get to the city park. We put cardboard over the storm drains so the little ducklings would not fall in. We also stopped traffic, which angered a few people, until they saw what we were doing. Then they smiled.
Lived on a lake in Georgia a few years back and I had a whole bunch of these guys that would come in my yard. The babies were all age groups buy they all stayed together in the same group. Always had one adult in front and one in back. Amazing how they look after each other❤❤
Awe, as an Oregonian I adored the cars stopping for them. Definitely how we're raised to treat our animals!! This looks like Beaverton based on the bus/street, a lot of birds like that are out there since it's closer to suburb/country. Cute video, thanks for posting 🙌🏾🥰
@@dz7se obviously, think if they were in Canada do what Scottish ducks do in Scotland & use the pelican crossings with their chicks. Where they do learn to wait for the green man before crossing.
Goose: "excuse me, pardon me, excuse me, pardon me, just crossing here with my family, thank you for not running us over!" Great ambassadors of our Canadian sterotype!!! (Thats why we send them around the world!!) Geese can teach peace!!! LMFAO 😂👌😘
@@laragravenor5750 LOL, if you think our geese are polite check out our bears!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6O33JRDumOM.html (they're all sent to school as baby cubs to learn Canadian manners & respect!!!) LOL 😂❤🐻😂❤🐻
@@indrajeet just to clarify these aren't Canadian "snow" geese, completely different species, snows are all white feathered and habitate western cdn and artic and while i agree that you should not be encouraged to feed them, we have the same instructions here in CDN, but they are not invasive species, birds fly, land, and take up residence in a comfortable environment, invasive species are intentionally or unintentionally introduced to a foreign enviroment, such as cane toads (in Australia) asian carp in North America etc. (Google it) its pretty hard to control birds. Plus they're Candian Geese so they're part of the original uk colony so they probably have passports and some diplomatic rights!!!LOL 😂😂🕊
Its really nice to see this act of kindness and compassion towards other living creatures. This restores hope in humanity in the present difficult situation.
All drivers are appreciated and i would congratulate to them for such a briliant calture, unfortunately if it is oppositely in my country. Warm greeting from iran
@@checkerslane. America hates every single country in this planet. IRAN is a civilized country and they don't interrupt other countries business, Iran still they are not going to fight but won't surrounding to their enemies. LONG live IRAN
@@dhuuxo5547 America does not hate other countries. Who tells you that? Trump loves the Iranian people & wants freedom & prosperity for them -- it's Iran's leaders that oppress the Iranian people.
I used to live in a moderately quiet suburban area just outside London and one day I was walking up the main road when a woman walked out of a private side road followed by a duck and a string of ducklings who she was beckoning to follow her. There wasn't any traffic around and none of them were in any danger but it was such an AWWW inspiring sight!
Wow. Their real smart. Waited for no traffic to b coming from the first lanes. When it was clear. Dad shook his head up and down saying yes it clear let's move. So beautiful to watch
@@vibingroup3460 They sure have a lot of mouths to feed, how do they manage? Title says they're Canadian so it must be true, eh? I'm even more surprised the drivers were patient(in short supply in the US) and let them cross, (without running them over). It's almost shocking!!
Hi there your comment was very unnecessary. You're atheist we get it, you don't need to be an asshole and diss someone with a different belief then you. Let's all just get along
I live in the Northwest & this is common here. Canadian geese are so very beautiful. It is a welcome respite from the daily grind to stop and watch parents cross with their goslings.
I remember being taught the following in my juniour schoolnin Saddleworth. "Look right, look left, look right again. If all's clear, quick march, walk through the gateway." Applause to all the drivers who quite rightly put their lives on hold for a minute in order to protect these innocent creatures. Thank you.
@@squirrel15 You weren't being thanked! How did you stop or slow down traffic! You filmed this? So in what way were you helping them cross the road? From what I could see you made no attempt at warning traffic, you just filmed their journey. Why didn't you make some attempt at slowing traffic? Or were you hoping for something else?
