You’ve obviously been paying attention throughout Dan’s career, as have I …. and you are spot on. Your recollections of his time in F1 are pretty much identical to my own. There is so much uninformed opinion out there about him from people that have either never paid attention, have forgotten, or manufactured their own false narratives about him. So refreshing to see someone with actual facts behind her to tell it how it is, and for this reason I’ve subbed. Nice job, and keep up the great content. Cheers 🙂
What battle between a paddock clown and a WDC winner? Villeneuve is 100% correct. I would feel sorry for ricciardo if he weren't such a full of himself, rude, obnoxious, immature buffoon. In 2 years he managed one good qualifying and already he was telling people that he never left, had the biggest grin on his face...what a despicable character. I find him more despicable than even stroll.
Just found your channel and subscribed, can I ask if you’re Irish as I’m trying to figure out the accent 🧐plus one of your A4 folders looks like it’s about to fall.
Perez on 2 years Yuki on 1 years leaves Ricciardo and Lawson in mix for 2025... Perez could drop to RB Visa if he has bad run in 2025... Yuki likely follow Honda once they join Aston...
Wow you spent so much time defending Daniel Ricciardo. Not sure why you’re so apologetic for Daniel Ricciardo’s poor form… he’s simply no longer the top class driver he once was. He should’ve never left Red Bull. He would be lucky to have a seat next year. And he’s been consistently beaten by Yuki who isn’t even rated high enough by Red Bull to get a seat there (Honda influence maybe?) Jacques Villeneuve was spot on with his comments, although he could’ve sugar coated them a little 😂 But Jacques is a legend. Remember that he 1. Was F1 world champion of 97, 2. Runner up in 96 F1 world championship in his rookie year, 3. Qualified on Pole for his first ever F1 GP race, 4. Beat Michael Schumacher and schooled him in a few races, 5. Indy/CART champion, 6. Winner of Indy 500, 7. Son of a true F1 Ferrari legend Gilles - he has earned the right to voice his opinion. Maybe he doesn’t mince his words but most of the time he is accurate with his assement.
Ocon might come from a poorer background but he obliterated/ decimated Gasly in every measurable way even in test sessions. The team literally forced Ocon to give his points to Gasly in Canada which is unheard of since Bottas days being forced to abort his laps. Let's wait and see what will happen when the upgrades are going to come to suit Gasly's feedback, maybe he'll make up for that embarrassing discrepancy.
Alonso once called Ricciardo the most complete driver he'd ever seen, when asked who of the hybrid generation was the driver he rated the most highly.... said he had all the skills, but never made mistakes. Career wise, maybe.... but on track? Was it Malaysia 2016? He v Vestappen... check it out if you've never seen it. Everyone talks about his overtaking, few people mention his defensive driving... but that, that was a MASTERCLASS... something Ocon probably should have made sure to watch, to learn how team mates are MEANT to race (and NO, Azerbaijan was NOT Ricciardo.. it was WHOLLY Verstappen, and the replay proves it unequivocally). The tragedy of Japan, 2014... but watch that race, and watch Ricciardo. Again, no one really speaks about his wet driving... but in a car that can handle it... he is phenomenal, on par with anyone, even Verstappen. In that race, for a few laps towards the end, he was lapping over a MINUTE faster than ANYONE, hampered only by flags, and that was why there was the confusion at the end as to if he or Vettel got the podium... he overtook Vettel, and would have overtaken Hamilton and won, but the race was red flagged, and that means results are determined from the previous lap standings. Where were with Renault, since you mentioned it.... Austria? Man I cannot remember.... but... 5 second penalty... was it? No complaining, no radio rage, no melodramatic radio messages aimed at the Stewards, citing all the excuses in the world, and how unfair it all was, and no emotional crash at the places he was going to lose, and radio messages asking 'cant we just retire the car/we need to just retire/what are we even doing here guys'.... like some. Instead, he said 'yeah sorry guys, my bad, that's on me, I will just drive faster'.... then... HE DID... and outdrove the penalty... in a RENAULT. Anyone wondering how the hell he managed to give McLaren their first win in almost a decade, before Norris... which he DID... by years.... the above kind of skills is HOW.. not just dumb luck. Anyone who thinks Ricciardo is over the hill, has lost, well, you're right, they HAVE NOT BEEN WATCHING. He'll settle in that car, the more the car feels comfortable for his driving style, with updates, and he will shine. He might even fight his way back in to that RBR seat, if Perez does not pull his finger out. Villeneuve won his WC, in a car that Gumby could have walked home with the title in, and never did much else. His title was easier won than any other 'cake walk' contenders, like Kekki Rosberg. I have two beliefs when it comes to former WDC's" A) Nelson Piquet is the MOST UNDERRATED World Champion ever, and it beggars belief when people mention Senna, the Professor, Shuey or any of the legends from that era, his name is so oft forgotten, despite being a triple world chapion, long before Senna ever was. Also... watch his overtake AGAINST Senna, in the inaugural Hungarian GP in 1986.... THE single GREATEST move in RACING HISTORY....around the OUTSIDE, at 180 kph, ONE HANDED, four wheel drifting, full opposite lock... why one handed when fighting to control the car so hard? He was using his other hand to flip off Senna. BASED AF LEGEND. B) Jacques Villeneuve is the most OVERRATED world Champion ever... more than Rosberg, more than Hill jr, more than ANY OF THEM, EVER... and I always ask myself... what is he still doing here? Why the F is anyone giving this retarded narcissist a microphone, and platform and treating him like he has ANY insights of value to the conversations around F1? Seriously, he does not. None. His punditry is worse than Johnny Herbert, and he was probably a worse driver. I think Villeneuve says Villeneuve things, because he if afraid he'll fade away like his hairline, if he does not, because NO ONE will remember his racing. That Piquet move mentioned above? Dear Jacques could never pull something like that off in a million years... and he'd wind up just like Daddy if he even tried. In fact, I feel like I have violated myself, in some depraved, perverted, dirty way, just by talking about the moron. I need a shower.... in DDT ... now, to wash this bio-hazard level of ick off me, just for doing so.
@@Adam-cy8nj I'm not a kid, and that decade is a decade of regular evidence of Ricciardos quality. You're the one who might need some drugs, for your negative emotions. Evidently you hate Ricciardo so much, you're projecting
Here’s my take. Daniel Ricciardo is in top half of the current F1 drivers on the grid. Yuki is also in the top 10 as well. Daniel and Yuki are quite evenly matched in pace. The big difference between Yuki and Daniel is that Daniel has more experience and more levelheaded. I do think that Yuki will eventually go to Aston Martin when Honda becomes the engine supplier.
I love Daniel Ricciardo, I really do, which makes it painful to say, but it is exactly out of said love that I have to. This is delusional, you're living in the past m8. Ricciardo has a lot of talent but at this point there's no good reason for him to still be in F1. He has a fleeting moment of his former greatness once in a while, but it never even lasts a whole weekend. JV's remarks were needless populism and a bit ironic seeing his past, but at the end of the day, his sentiment isn't unfounded. Danny Ric really needs to step it up NOW in order to save his seat.
@@michaelcobbin that's a one off though, so far, and he had trouble making it stick on sunday. IMO these little glimpse of success in Miami and Canada but never anything concrete... I'm rooting for him though
Sorry but what Villeneuve said about Daniel was pretty much correct although he did go about it like an idiot and lacked class. Should have given Daniel more respect. That said, Daniel's F1 career went downhill once he left Red Bull, a decision he will admit in hindsight he shouldn't have made. Struggled against a young Lando and couldn't find a seat when McLaren released him. A nice bloke but yeah, his best years are past him. Maybe indycar will suit him more idk. Good luck to him wherever the wind takes him.
@@RaptureCentralControl I have too. He'll go the way of Alonso, rather than Vettel, when everyone thinks he's done, he'll show you. As for young Lando..... as you mentioned in your initial comment... who won McLaren their first race in almost a decade? Out of Ricciardo and Lando, who won a race in their time together? Lando? You have not been watching F1 all that, sorry, I cannot believe it, if this is your take.
@@Apis4 I appreciate the essay however you're driven far too much by emotion (or you're trolling) and not really taking into account no-one wanted to give him a seat until Horner took him back. The only way he'll do an 'Alonso' is to try out indycar, aside from that his F1 career is pretty much done. He had a good run and like I said, best of luck to him in his future endeavours.
@@RaptureCentralControl Wasn't an essay. Mercedes wanted him, they moved hard, at Hamitons suggestion he might be open to it (he and Hamilton are pretty good friends), to get him as a reserve driver, until something could be arranged to try him for a seat, but he'd publicly said he'd rather retire than do that, so took a year off. Red Bull were in talks with him that whole time. HAAS, Williams and Sauber all tentatively approached him, but he was not interested. Red Bull were not sure they'd get him, but almost as a favour, because he felt he owed them his career, and does, he accepted the Alpha Tauri seat when the Dutch kid got axed suddenly mid season. That you do not seem to know all that tells me you're wholly unqualified to be speaking on the subject. Good day to you sir.
Someone is sweet on Ricciardo. He was middling at Renault. And backed his way out of the fight at RedBull. McLaren was brutal. And then has been completely undome by Yuki. A lucky man who was flattered by the RB cars and can’t drive anything else.
@@Adam-cy8nj most drivers have fewer achievements. It's not the marker. Look at Hulkenberg, no podiums, but everyone can see his skills. Ricciardo has scored podiums and wins since leaving Red Bull, so it's not nothing, but also not the only way to count achievements
Hello. I just found your channel. I liked and subscribed because you are so pretty. Beautiful complexion too. I can't believe Ferrari gave Lewis a seat. What were they thinking ? I guess Ferrari has lost all desire to win. Lewis has almost completed a 3 year losing streak. I'm looking for big things from Piastri real soon. The youngster is fast. See you next time. Love your voice too. I always support my fellow Dutchman but I am from the U.S. Go Max.
Let's be honest, he was fired. It was no coincidence that they announced they would be parting ways after the incident at Monaco. Not even considering renewing his contract.
@@youssefhammad1178 It's the same exact meaning just less abrasive, they would never use that word when they can make it sound less abrasive, it's the same sort of language used when Daniel was let go from McLaren, it's putting lipstick on a pig basically. We know what it is even if they wont say it. They haven't even signed another driver yet and it's 8 races into the season.
I think ocon is going to struggle for a seat next year.. Seems to all depend on sainz. My guess is sainz will pick audi, bottas to Williams, kimi to merc Lawson to rb, Ricardo out... A lot of pieces still to fall into place
Riccardo won’t be out of F1 next year for multiple reasons, which are: - He’s actually one of the top 10 driver on the grid. Ricciardo is better driver than Stroll and Perez. - He’s too big of commercial asset for both RB and Red Bull Racing. - Ricciardo technical feedback is way better than Yuki. The RB team did not improve in the results until Riccardo joined the team. In 2022, RB was the second worst team on the grid. Prior to Ricciardo joining RB in 2023, they were the worst team on the grid. - Yuki still makes fundamental mistakes and needs an experience driver to keep him more levelheaded. - Daniel can get the RB into the top 5 in qualifying. Daniel has done that twice this year and Yuki hasn’t been able to achieve that. The RB car is not top 5 qualifying car but Daniel can get the max out of the car. - Lastly and more importantly, Christian Horner loves Ricciardo and Ricciardo will always back Horner 100%. If Christian Horner believes that Daniel Ricciardo can extract the max out of the car like he did the Renault, Daniel will be staying with the team. Christian Horner knows that Yuki will go Aston Martin once they become the engine supplier.
@@michaelcobbin can you stop making so much sense 😂 all the Drive to Survivers will get a headache not understanding your logic. It’s all a confidence thing with Daniel, he likes the same characteristics as Max in a car but not that extreme…. If Perez keeps stuffing up and Daniel at least can be consistent then a swap with Perez might be on the cards.
