Related story: at MagicCon Chicago, I acquired what I believe to be the only Phil Foglio altered Force of Will. He said he didn't like covering up people's art completely, but would make an exception for me once I explained that I didn't want a transphobe's art in my magic deck. So Phil Foglio confirmed ally (he drew a goblin in the FoW pose it's pretty sick)

That was the nicest Balance ever played...Serge could have just played Mox+Balance and also made Alex sac a land (before playing his land). So even when he plays Balance, Serge is nice.

Alex might not have lost game 2. He cracked his Misty after the pox resolved, but has he done so before, the extra point of damage wouldn't have mattered due to being lost in the 1/3 math, and he'd have another draw.

2:27:49 The Nissa can still block the dryad militant or the scaled up lavamancer, since neither of them are soldiers and Kargan Intimidator only says cowards can’t block warriors. Wheeler should be at least two more life, since he would have been able to block the dryad militant. Wheeler still won, but just pointing it out…

To me the reason the one ring as a card doesn't tempt with the ring is because the ring is in your, the players, possession and therefore you are under its thrall and why would you give it to a creature. It does mean that you can have two ting effects which is a little flavour fail but then it makes as much flavour sense as you and your opponent both having a bearer and having characters from different parts of a story on the battlefield at the same time etc

There's also the fact that the same story event/flavor point can and has been represented different ways. Some people seem to think there's only one way to represent any given flavor, when that's never been the case. Heck, the action of "giving my guy a sword" has been represented through Auras, Equipment, +1/+1 counters, combat tricks, activated abilities, and more.

I think greasiness is a quality that comes out of thinking that intelligent creativity has to be beautiful. But there is also a kind of creativity that is desperate, divisive, deceptive, and unbeautiful. It’s the kind of strategy that doesn’t know what it’s doing, but is always trying to make things work out. Yes maybe Lenny the Jacuzzi salesman could have used his gifts to cure cancer, but then he wouldn’t have been doing it his way. Frank Sinatra exclusively wrote music for people with this mindset.

There's also the idea that a deck has to do exactly what it "advertises" that it does and any deviation from that is somehow duplicitous. Having backup plans is basic strategy.

@26:30 Why doesn't Serge sacrifice his creature? It must be Serge's turn, Pox is a sorcery, which means it's currently a creature. He needs to sacrifice 1/3 of his 1 creatures, rounded up, which is 1. He should have to sacrifice Gideon, shouldn't he? @27:15 he even attacks with it, so it's a creature and he should have sacrificed it. It being a planeswalker doesn't mean anything does it?

It wasn't a creature when Pox resolved. Gideon's first 0 ability turns him into a creature.

the worst thing about the Commander ban list is that some bans are for casual anti-fun reasons while others are for cEDH reasons, when that's not how bans work in any other format. If anything cEDH should just separate into it's own format.
