Having heard all of them do speeches, of the party leaders (Green,PPC,NDP,Cons,Lib), Elizabeth May is cleanly the smartest as a person. We'll see if this'll be enough to hold the balance of power in a minority government...hopefully.... hopefully.

She's so spot on that the only thing they could dig up on her was using the "F" word in a speech! If she had more money for her campaign and we had an honest media her numbers in the polls would surge. This is a leader.

I had the pleasure of meeting is wonderful woman yesterday. She was participating in her riding's debate, and she was absolutely fantastic. No wonder she doesn't get invited to some debates, because after Maclean's, everyone knows she is the one with the facts, she's the one that knows what she is doing, she is the real leader we need.

while she maybe an environmentalist and glad she's opposed to the keystone pipeline, the Greens really could've chosen a better leader, and I'm not impressed with her and the Greens in Canada who I find are too moderate and a liberal lite party which funny Naomi Klein says that the NDP have become too much to the center.

Agreed, I didn't realize how much I disagree with Elizabeth May. She is definitely intelligent but maybe she's been embedded with capitalist ideologues for so long she's starting to read from their script.

Mangy Cat yeah sadly its the Canadian way different shades of right, no real left anymore especially with the NDP sadly.

Yeah the NDP has really turned away from left wing ideas and their base of support. I wouldn't even consider voting for them now; Waffling on pipelines etc. On a positive note, the Greens do have some excellent policy positions in their platform. It's just so frustrating that May doesn't emphasize things like cooperative support frameworks, among other things, when she's on the national stage. In fact, I've never heard her mention it in public which makes me question whether it's a priority for her as Green Party leader or as an individual.Yuri muckraker

Mangy Cat well all that being said and the fact the NDP didn't do too well in the general elections and the Greens if i'm not wrong failed to gain more of a gathering, I think its high time that the Greens challenged her leadership for someone more bold in wanting a sustainable planet with a sustainable economy which is simply non-negotiable when we talk of the survival of the planet/specie.

Yuri muckraker I like Elizabeth May but I think you're right that the Greens may need a new leader who will aggressively fight for left wing priorities. Sadly, I believe her leadership was recently reaffirmed at the last GPC, probably, largely due to the fact she still holds the only Green seat in parliament. :/ I agree. I'd also like to add, I think it's because they both tried to appear more moderate when in the spotlight, isolating their base and making it difficult for many to differentiate their parties from the Liberals. I've even heard people comment that the Liberals were farther left than the NDP, which of course is false but that seemed to be the perception of many people; go with the "safe" bet because they're just as liberal and are more likely defeat Harper.

She doesn't understand productivity. The oil industry has the highest level of productivity , revenue / number of workers. If you want to increase productivity reduce the % of service workers, number of teachers , number of gov't workers etc.
