Hello Friends/Hola Amigos!
(I skipped work today just for this, SO DON'T RAT ME OUT!!!)
Me and longtime railfan friend Mr. C made an arrangement to catch The Empress coming down south from Victoria to Hebbronville. Unfortunately, we missed its arrival into Victoria (we mistook its departure time until we saw the live feed from Jack Carson's camera), so we scrambled back south to catch it. Lucky for us, we only lost 45 minutes as we managed to get ahead and catch it at quite a few spots. Once the train swung over to the TexMex Connector, I called it "La Emperatriz" as most towns we railfanned along the TexMex spoke Spanish. I had a bit of tripod trouble as it was quite hard to turn...to the point I whacked it while in Robstown (seen in camera, sorry!). Once by Agua Dulce, it was smooth sailing for catching the train and beating others to good spots.
And now, please enjoy several locations of Canadian Pacific MLW 4-6-4 Hudson #2816 chugging along the Brownsville and TexMex Subdivisions.
