Canadian Patriotic Song: The Maple Leaf Forever [Retro version] 

"The Maple Leaf Forever" is a Canadian patriotic song written by Alexander Muir in 1867, the year of Canada's Confederation. He wrote the work after serving with the Queen's Own Rifles of Toronto in the Battle of Ridgeway against the Fenians in 1866.
It was considered as the de facto national anthem of English Canada from 1867 to 1980, the latter year being when O Canada became the official national anthem.

Il a joui d'une grande popularité auprès des Canadiens anglais, de la fin du xixe siècle jusqu'au milieu du xxe siècle.
Ce fut l'hymne national de facto du Canada anglais de 1867 à 1980, jusqu'à temps que le Ô Canada a été adopté comme hymne national officiel.
