I miss Canadian poutine a lot! 😢 but I'm still on the hunt for some pretty good poutine options in the USA. Have you ever had poutine? What was your favorite?
French Canadian here. I love poutine. I can't find a better one than in my hometown. I tried one in SLC and it was okay. Not super fresh in terms of cheese curd cause I feel like it stays cold and not necessarily made fresh locally. Other than that, people recommend Wisconsin for fresh cheese curd
The best Poutine that I've ever tried was at a restaurant called Hop Cat. It was called Vladimir Poutine 😅. It was SO-FREAKING-GOOD! When I moved away (they closed before I did though) I started going to this little mom & pop restaurant & ended up making a Breakfast Poutine. It's so good they're talking about making it an actual menu item.
I was so sad about it tbh! I thought there would be SOMETHING close. But nah. Meanwhile, my sister just be eating and posting her poutine life like I'm not getting all jealous over here. 😆
Oh, honey. Don't go North, you need to come down South, the real South, where we make thicccccccc gravy & love our cheese! Heck, you need to try the Poutine I made.
actually - I just looked up pronunciation because I was curious. I think it's both based on where you live. I grew up on the boarder of Quebec and I think some pronounce it "poo-tin" but the common French (France) way is "poo-teen". Also - my first language is English growing up with French immersion, sooo I could just have a REALLY bad accent lol 💀
