I live just north of Syracuse and the air stunk of smoke all day. I still can't get the smoke taste washed out of my mouth. Never seen anything like this.

@Melbester9 This started happening on the west coast of Canada in the last 5-6 years. Sure, there were forest fires before that but it started to look like this and does so a little more or less every year now. One year about a couple years ago it was so bad here that we saw something we've never seen here before... ash falling from the sky. The thick smoke is bad but it really starts setting in when it's a very hot day, pea soup smoke, and ash coming down around you.

Living in the city right beside the Rockies here in Canada where most fire rages started this year, the air quality was so bad for several days last week we had to keep the windows shut completely. It hit us unexpectedly bc the winds carried it eastward towards us and the fire bans here are no joke. The fires are now worsening in eastern Canada so that smoke is blowing down to Newyork 😢 I hope Everyone stays safe, please take precautions. 😢

Anyone wonder what the Chinese reconnaissance balloons were dropping on us earlier this year? 100s of forest fires just happen to spark up over night all over the interior of Quebec in the middle of nowhere when the province of quebec says they never see this. I noticed it yesterday, I live in PA so it was spread over here. I was so confused why it all smelt like people was having a cookout, That what I thought or better yet I also thought it was fog. Till my neighbor came outside and told me about the wildfire in Canada and that it's spreading to new York and now here, He even said that never in his thirty three years of living never seen anything like that. I believe that as well, Yesterday was all cloudy and I assume it's the smoke because the sun was trying to beam through the clouds. Got to pray for those who live close to the area where thick smoke is coming, May God keep them safe. ❤

Walked out of school today and everyone was shocked and started screaming “ITS THE APOCALYPSE.” It really did feel like one, and even our school had to let the teachers leave early. Also im not sure how well you are with math, but AB is a tiny bit bigger than NS. If the fires there burnt as much as they have in AB and BC over the past few years... there wouldnt even be a tree left in NS.

When it is super smoggy like this 1:13, go to a gas station and blow off your air filter, keep doing that until the sky clears up, and then blow it off one more time and wait two more weeks to replace your filters. Do an oil change as well.

Seeing this resurfaces some very unpleasant memories. I experienced the hellish San Francisco Bay Area smoke during the Fall of 2020. So many natural disasters come and go, like a tornado, earthquake, fire, hurricane, etc. Although the initial impact is bad, and some leave lingering side effects, the event itself doesn’t last for 1-2 weeks. But lingering smoke, that starts to weigh you down physically and emotionally since you just can’t escape it short of leaving the area/region. So I feel for everyone in all states being hit by the smoke. Be well and I hope it lifts quickly.

It should have never got this far, the US and Canada have plenty of planes and helicopters to knock this fire out, and think of all the people who can't breathe right now, this will make it worse for them. I never saw anything like this in NY, and I'm 60 years old. They can make it rain, so why not use those rain machines to knock these fires out. We have so many resources to put these fires out, why aren't they using them. Why let it burn.

Canadian pub rumours are these fires were started intentionally. We don’t know why or by who but this level of fire in these regions doesn’t make sense. My buddy who fights fires and in Quebec says he’s never seen anything like this. 45 fires all over quebec in one night. That doesn’t happen.

Hi I live in Quebec. It is indeed unprecedented in number but not in cause. Spring came a whole month early this year. And then we had a short heat wave. We always have a few little ones but conditions made them bigger and now they’re joining up
