So does Danielle know about the curse of disadvantage of the permanent 5 countries (Italy, UK, Spain, Germany, France) and how it is extra difficult for them to win because they get to perform only in the finale whereas other countries compete in semi-finals and thus get more exposure? Germany and Italy have won in the recent years but only because their songs were so unique and original to their competition that year.

Honestly I'm not into bdsm I don't live that rock emo gothic alternative lifestyle. But hatari is one of my absolute favourite acts on Eurovision ever. It's unique , it's a performance, it's like a fck U to the mainstream songs, it's just appealing to me . 🤣

Basically the Belarussian jury broke the rules in the semi final so they were banned in the final. To replace them, they took an average of how the countries around Belarus voted. But they accidentally put the votes UPSIDE DOWN so the last place was first and first place was last. After the contest Euro Bruno on Twitter figured out the results were upside down so the results were changed after the contest. North Macedonia ended up winning the jury vote and Israel, who had only gotten points from Belarus, came last. Overall the results didn't change too much other than Norway falling out of the top 5

So basically the issue was that the Belarussian jury discussed their semi-final jury votes which is against the rules. The belarussian jury result was based upon the results of countries with historical ties. The issue was that the incorrect score was presented in the final (the votes got reversed). It was a lot of chaos in the end but I'm happy for Tamara for winning the jury vote.

My fave from 2019 was either 🇦🇺, 🇳🇱, 🇪🇸, 🇮🇹 or 🇨🇭. Some of the most robbed ones was probably 🇵🇹 or 🇷🇴, they were amazing and were all robbed.

Hatari (iceland) has the funniest interviews and online/tv personas!! they are SO dead-pan and crazy stupid! - also at the final they were thrown out from the green-room for waving a palestinian flag (it was hosted in israel..) . eventhough eurovision is supposed to be a politics-free competition, we all know it's far from that so they felt like they should stand up for someting.

i always dance to la venda with my niece and nephew and we completely go feral every time it is such a fun song!

Great video as always! Although I believe the real winner was not competing that year. I think MARUV - Siren Song and the 2019 Ukraine drama deserve a video on its own. That performance that won the Ukrainian National selection was EVERYTHING.

I'm so happy you guys liked Miki, he was part of Operación Triunfo, which is a singing contest here in Spain and everyone loved him so by televoting we sent him to the Eurovision Contest, as someone said the other artists literally formed a giant conga singing and dancing while he was on stage so we felt very bad when he got that position.

From the top of my head, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Alberta, Prince Edward Island, Northern Territory, Yukon, Québec… and that’s about as much as my little English brain can remember 😅

Also the weird language from norway is actually a type of singing from the Sami people who are originating from northern norway, sweden and finland. It's called Joik and it's very pretty!

I was in the crowd that night. Spain (w/norway and Italy) got the biggest reaction from the crowd. I really thought they would get top 10 .

1.Australia 2. Norway 3. Spain/Iceland 4. Switzerland with that said honestly I was hoping Australia got a 12th or 13th and Norway a 15th or 16th. None of this songs were on my top 10 for Eurovision 2019 so its hard to rank them

Might want to add - the reason why Iceland in 2019 got no camera time after their performance (their mics were cut off immediately but other nations such as Norway got to say thank you etc) - is because Iceland is pro Palestine. So the group that went to Israel for the 2019 ESC didn't feel very great, and not all the members knew that the two singers had Palestinian flags in their boots which they took out and flew the Palestinian flag during the voting when they received 12 points. It was an incredibly dangerous thing to do and a political stance which is not allowed in Eurovision but also could be physically dangerous for the people. There are videos of it when officials at the contest went over and demanded the flags from them where you can hear one of the dancers very clearly afraid say: "I just want to go back to the hotel". So just to give some context. Also, some people (myself included) did not watch the 2019 ESC because it was hosted in Israel while there was still conflict between Palestine and Israel (and there still is a lot of murders and violence and sadly that was the only way for us small Icelanders to protest the competition being held in Israel)

I think Spain got such a bad score that year because they were the last country to perform. When you are the last country to perform every watcher has already picked their favorite. Eurovision also take a long time so after watching 20 countries most brains are overcooked

Australia was so amazing live. I was in the audience and it was great seeing her wheeled in and out. The audience lost their shit in the semi-final I was at, definitely an audience favourite but dont think how much movement she had was captured by the cameras/broadcast

Tbh everyone in Spain expected to be on the left side of the scoreboard for the first time in a while, and we were truly robbed.
