Ahh cheers Stuart, great to know I’ve inspired someone 👍 Yes the canals around by us have become like the M6 lately but I’m sure that’s the same in most places. Most Black Country canals hold but recently it’s been too hot and they haven’t wanted to play ball. Go later in the afternoon see if that helps

@@BlackCountryPiker Yeah! He used to toss lures or flies for them. Said they were a good feed, (LIKE their red fin cousins) but VERY bony!

Did you change spots much, in my limited experience i have found, i get takes in the 1st 10 mins, so i give a spot 30-45 mins and move on, i also recast alot, as i have had lots of takes straight after a recast

Bickley’s Angling Adventures we did move a couple times but we both agreed we should have moved about more. Next time we have said depending on how the swim is going 45 minutes max and move

Hiya Marcin, I’ve not really payed too much attention to zander yet but the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal holds, Tamworth canal, the river Severn at Tewksbury and down

Black Country Piker I fish with Nic from Avon Angling UK that you mentioned in your video as I introduced him to catching Zander on the canals. He uses circle hooks as you know and has very good hook up rates now. The hook I use is a more conventional shape , but i think it’s just a matter of sticking with a hook you have confidence in. If you don’t connect sometimes they are small zedlets dragging the bait off line with eyes are bigger than their bellies.
