I'm up to #70 now (which also happens to be my age!!) It's so enjoyable to explore the canals of Britain with you both. When I want to escape (especially the news here in the U.S.) I just watch another Foxes Afloat segment. Please know how much you are lighting up our lives. Thank you both!!
You both are what I watch just before turning off the light. I too, enjoy going along with you. It’s great to see the lovely scenery and your laughter makes me smile. Thanks, and Sweet dreams 😴
The look on Colins face when the penny dropped ( Batman) 😁 , and £12 for a haircut is daylight robbery at least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask. Take care lads .
Well this was a perfect example of why I love you guys...the giggle. Shaun spoke of Batman, and Collin was quite confused for a little while, starting the giggle and then the laughing just got bigger. Awesome to watch, best thing going right now for me. Cheers!
I've enjoyed every single vlog on your channel. The production value is high and the music you choose is always perfectly matched to the video. And, once again, when you two start laughing I start laughing as well! It feels good. Thanks.
More beautiful places with excellent photography. (The scout tunnel reflection was a highlight) We’re starting to think of your English Canal heritage as the eighth wonder of the world! What’s always a highlight is how you put a smile on our faces...smiles and laughter while travelling in such a wonderful way, thanks boys. James and Colin.
Hi guys. Uppermill, Dobcross and all the local Saddleworth villages are a great place to be on Whit Friday as 100’s of brass bands from all over the country attend march competitions. This includes all the famous ones such as Grimethorpe and Brighouse & Rastrick etc Really interesting vlog again chaps, enjoy the history 👍🏻
With a smile on my face from start to end of the vlog. Very interesting and informative and as always enjoyable to watch. The both of you look fun to be with. Down to earth and great sense of humor. Looking forwards to the next vlog. Take care x
Kudos to the CRT for keeping the canals in such prime condition... wow. For What It's Worth, you two have WAY TOO MUCH FUN, and as always many thanks for taking me along. Cheers from the "other side", hard by Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada
The hair looks spiffy anyway, might have been expensive but they did a good job. Really liked the music around gate 16, 👍🏻. Beautiful countryside, the leaves are turning fast here, you can almost see them change everyday. Some years we get bright reds and oranges others kind of faded shades, this year the reds are really saturated. Chilly mornings, walking grandson to his school bus you can smell the woodsmoke, see the mist rising off the ocean and the trees are beautiful. Loving autumn, now craving a turkey dinner, pumpkin pie, seafood chowder and hot biscuits, crisp new apples, freshly dug potato’s, sweet carrots, baked squash.....just a few of my favourite fall tastes. Made a trip to the British shop yesterday to stock up on some good tea, Builders and Bewleys this time. M&S extra strong is my favourite but not easy to find here. I’m sure the tea merchants sweep up the crap off the floors and say “ send that lot to Canada , they know nothing about a good tea, waste not”. Enjoy your trip, wherever you end up. I’d love to know some of your favourite meals , watch some prep, check out Sean’s favourite cakes, any hobbies, things you like to do in spare time. With winter coming and less travel, more at home by the fire it would be nice to see what you’re up to while I’m stuck inside knitting, reading, sewing, baking, watching some telly. One of my guilty sins was watching Celebrity Big Brother Britain and now its gone😢. Oh well, 🙋🏼
A lot of that is coming soon in future vlogs. Over the colder months you'll a lot more from inside the boat 😉 I actually liked the haircut, but still, £12 😱
Oh my . . . another AWESOME VIDEO! I really enjoyed this one, lots of beautiful scenery and Sean is hysterical as always. I must compliment you again Colin on your excellent narration and video production quality; to say your work is Top Drawer, is a gross understatement. I can't wait until next Friday to see more. Thanx!
I found Martin Zero from a separate search. I was totally thrilled to see Martin Zero and the Foxes together. Very very enjoyable video. as always. As stated by others, I like the "robbin'" and Batman schtick; funny in a quick way. Got to keep up with these guys!
Foxes Afloat I lived in Castlefield (Manchester) by the canal basin for some 12 years.....you will love it if you have not already been there..... great places to eat and have a few drinkies🍸. Enjoy.........
Great watching you two work. The level of comfort you show towards the camera is wonderful. Makes me feel that you really ARE talking just to me, bringing me with you. Mastercraft. I love Friday's now because of you. Cheers from the States.
What a coincidence you meet up with Martin Zero. Both you and Martin are my favourite channels on youtube at the minute as you both make quality content. I look forward to seeing you come down the Manchester.
Hello chaps, wow what a small world couldn't beleive it when Martin popped up.am already a subscriber of his channel.think you will defo go Marple.done that stretch on my bike couple years ago.enjoy watching your journey 👍
My standout moment on this vlog...that shot of the reflection in the tunnel...superb. Lovely scenery and a great chuckle as well, glad at a couple of points I didn't have a mouthful of my morning coffee...:) Great vlog, thank you both.
Your attention to detail during the editing process is evident, done in a truly masterful way. Wonder to think of how many hours of video you go through to come up consistently with 20 minutes of wonderful travel vlogs for us. Thank you!
You had sounded earlier (to me) that you might have thought the Standedge Tunnel vlog might be a high point in your productions so far; but, that is not true. What's true (to me) is that you're very talented at this sort of thing, and so, like all the others here, it's actually me watching your work that keeps hitting a high point. It's no stretch whatever to say that you two doing that over there adds a joy to my life over here in Canada.
@@FoxesAfloat The love of my life died young after fifteen years of struggle. I've lived in the abyss. We try to survive what we must and try not to lose touch with life being a gift - not a right - and find the courage to bring positive energy to it where we can. Something you have spoken openly about, so you already know. I care about all three of you, and you really do bring joy to my life.
One of the best vlogs to date! I so love it when you two get to cracking each other up. Outtakes we exceptional this time around. Great seeing Martin as well.
Today 10/4/19 Autumn in the Houston area high of ninety two degrees today. next week a cold front that will take it into the high seventy's low eighties, and I am looking forward to that.
Believe me, £11-£12 is nothing to pay for a haircut! But I guess you could call me high maintenance - perhaps that’ll have to change soon! And thanks to you two, I’m now really looking forward to the Huddersfield Narrow.
So glad that you two linked up with the remarkable Martin Zero. I first learned of the very scary Standedge tunnel through his channel. Honestly, your RU-vid channel and Martin’s channel area my absolute favorite things to watch. Thanks once again for brightening my dreary Texas day with your beautiful work. I know that you put hours of diligent effort and your prodigious talent for videoing and editing into each episode. You two are making people happy.
Martin has a brilliant chanel! Maybe you guys can help Martin find his Drone, it's in the canal also!! Lol love it when you guys come on each others chanels. Great video
I loved your last video through the tunnel - better than many professional documentaries. This one though is possibly better, with lovely details in the well lit shots, clear perspective and smooth editing. Thank You - Good Luck!
Hi again Guys hope you are both as well as you look. I've come to a decision and that is You guys are the best vlog on the canal adventures especially for quality and information regarding each journey you give use a very detailed and interesting history of the network and the overall experience it's fun and entertaining so keep up the good work catch you soon Regards John.
Stumbled on you two by chance on RU-vid a couple of weeks back and now I have a bone to pick with you. Never been addicted to tobacco, booze, drugs and now I'm addicted - to you two! I'm from Manchester originally. left at 18, moved to France at 31, then to the USA at 45, am now 76 and live in France half the year, Florida the other. Done a few narrowboat trips on the Llangollen, Avon Ring and we were supposed to be doing the Cheshire Ring this year then Covid got in the way and it's been put off until some post-Covid date. Just watched episode 70, coming down the Pennines. My sister lived in Dobcross for years and is now in Wigan, so I've visited those areas and walked the towpaths with her. Your adventures are so beautifully related, filmed (wow that drone!) and your laughter and joking are infectious. Guy (husband) and I are binge-watching. You will keep us company as the nights draw in here in Brittany. Can't get back to Florida this year - thanks again Covid - but you'll bring sunshine to our winter evenings. Thanks a million!
I love you guys! You make me laugh and you make me cry. Your photography is beautiful and your choice of music is spot on. Yours is definitely my favorite vlog to watch! If my husband and I ever make it back to England, we would love to meet up with you guys for a cuppa and some cake! :)
You two guys are nutters but we all love you for that and having Martin Zero on board was a bonus. Two of my favourite youtube channels in one lol. Keep up the good work boys your vids are so entertaining
Still enjoying the videos. Looking at the workmanship of the locks etc it occurred to me that it is lucky that many canals were just abandoned by the 1960s and not destroyed in the same way that Dr Beeching did to many railways. At least there was something left to restore with the canals.
Yeah, most were saved and a lot were restored, some still are being restored like the northern reaches of the Lancaster Canal between Tewitfield and Kendal
Came here from Martin Zero's channel and you guys are great. Your videos are so well produced and presented, Martin could learn a lot LOL. you got a new subscriber ;-)
How can a dog be so happy all the time. Surely he'll strain his tail wagging it so much. Loving your videos. You bought that kayak but has it been out of its wraps yet.....
Hey. Yeah, Dillon is always happy. I use the kayak most days, but I don't film myself using it. It's just exercise for me, like running and swimming. I've blogged it a couple of times but people get bored if I keep filming it 👍🏻
Hey, Russell. yeah, It was tough to use the drone because a lot of this route was tree lined and there were a few places we weren't allowed because we were right under the Manchester Airport landing path 👍🏻
I love the "lock calendar", imagine the storytelling begins with "Many many locks ago in an uncleared part of our canalaxy, Han Colin and Obi Shaun Kenobi flying the Silver Millenium, trying to evade the dark empire of cheap labor..."
Have you tried Frederick's ice cream on the Leeds & Liverpool near Chorley. If your ever in chorley would love to meet up. Love the shows my wife is addicted.
Followed Martin for ages even before he got his mega subscribers so thought I'd look in here and subscribe too. Love canals and have had holidays on narrowboats. I live fairly close to Tardebigge locks in Worcestershire. Also used to live in Stourport on Severn (a canal town) built after James Brindley built the Staffs & Worcs canal that joins the River Severn. Worth a look if you're ever down this way.
@@FoxesAfloat No.1 done!!! Remember that series well, bit of a one off at the time but made a couple of "stars" from it!!! I'll be following your journey at a steady canal boat pace, won't comment on 'em all - you'll be well p****d off with me!!! 🤐
Wow Martin Zero... Top fella but you gave him your windlass??? You do know where his first drone ended up??? And magnet fishing on his channel is one of the funniest things I have seen on RU-vid. Great collaboration :D
I have just got to ask. You both seem quite seaworthy but, how often do ya give the boat a bit if a bump in and around the locks. Im truly not trying to be a troll. Just curious. Thank you Shaun for your time in the Navy. I too served in the U.S. Navy. Thank you for your service, and saving that deer.
Yeah, it's not uncommon to nudge the boat at locks. That's why they are built of steel and have rubbing strakes around the boat to absorb the little bumps 👍🏻
It was so good to see you go through my hometown.... I know I'm years behind lol. You moored up at Roaches lock in Mossley, lock 15. I'm not far away from there. Wish I could have met you both. I love your videos, the fact that you don't hide stuff, ure funny and fill of facts and history. Very informative and interesting. Ure both great and I am binge watching your videos to catch up. As ll the best xx
Still catching up with your adventures. But now, there's a chance that I'll catch up with you in real life. Because... I bought a boat!!! That's a bit of a lie actually, but I bought a 4 week share in a boat. Somerton is a 58 ft ex-Ownerships boat, currently based on the Stratford canal. Look out for me on your travels.
Hi guys. Catching up on your blogs slowly. Pretty sure I've seen all of them up to here. Got to say that Shauns's sense of humour is just like mine with the batman reference. Had me in stitches today. Just what I needed. Cheers, Jon.
I really enjoyed that episode, and the special guest appearance of Martin (or did you press gang him into assisting?)Does this mean the foxes afloat crew will be appearing on Martins channel? Far too much excitement for one video.
"it wasn't an excuse..." wow, so CRT workers can be bribed for Col to get more ice cream, can they? ;-) Shaun's haircut was more because he's an OAP? would that be an Overly Attractive Person? liking your Superdry tshirt, Shaun. apparently, I've got a thing for Superdry clothing now.... so, it's suddenly occurred to me....have you had Dillon since he was a puppy? if so, can we see some puppy photos? I don't recall you having shown any before, but then, I am an old git without the best memory... xxx
Hello, Auntie! CRT workers CAN'T be bribed (Don;t get me in trouble) 😂 I love Superdry and Shaun buys everything I buy because he likes my things. Yes, you can see baby Dillon here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ssqyv8pYPss.html xxxxx
