its adictive we had four years over there sailing our yacht ,from yorkshire uk to entre at leharve france ,then on waterways through to port st louie ,and beyonde ,to corsica and sardinya , the heat and costs, pluss an incident with a fishing nett, we found ourselves back on the french waterways,we fell in love with them, we came back to uk in 2015\16 and have since built spindrift 45 ft x 12ft barge custom made we hope to return this year after our covid jabs to the european waterway regards john carol spindrift yorkshire

In May 2010 we sailed the entire canal from Briare to Decize, and now in August we do it again together with our grandchildren. We especially remember the little restaurant in Ménétreol. PK157. Beautiful and very quiet canal.

Hi, yes the stretch of canal is fantastic and we enjoyed every second of it. The lock keepers are all very helpful and we enjoyed the company of the other canal users. We are looking forward to going back, but next time, take about six weeks rather than doing it in two weeks. There is so much more to explore with too many favourite locations to list!! Enjoy your next adventure, your grandchildren will love the experience.
