My husband and I just come back from Canary Wharf. We had a fantastic time. We stayed at Hilton double tree. What a wonderful hotel. Fantastic. We had a balcony looking over the water. Beautiful
Lots of the gentrified and rebuilt parts of London used to be really bad. In the 1960s Shoreditch, Whitechapel, Mile End, parts of Hackney were overrun with street urchins and Kray-style cockney villains, while Notting Hill was a slum full of hippies. Clapham was proper rough until the early 1990s, Brixton has only got better in the past few years... London has cleaned up at breakneck speed.
Clarissa McPigeon unfortunately the outer city is slowly becoming how the inner city used to be with all the crime and poverty being pushed outwards ilford, Croydon, Walthamstow,edminton, layton Lewisham are examples of this
This is such a beautiful place! I stayed here for 2 nights while working, went on walks for both nights, stayed out until 2:00 AM just looking around this place then walking from here to the main part of London! Cant wait to go back 😍
I just fell in love with your channel. Ther's nothing I love more than London. I spend days just watching videos about London and yours are quickly becoming my faves! Please keep posting these, I feel like I can't live without them anymore! :) . Also, this is one of the many reasons why I love big cities and London. I live in a small town where when it's night, you won't met anyone on the streets, there's complete silence and no light and it feels weird and scary. I mean, I enjoy being alone, but in the night? I love that in London I could go outside and meet so many people and I wouldn't feel alone. Like, I could just look outside of my window and not feel alone. I love the noises of a busy city and I love all the lights, how every window in every building is light up. I just love that look. London takes my breath away and I will do anything to live there one day ♥
Dee StyPayHorSon yes London is beautiful but don't forget u need to be very rich to live in this area or in central London zone 2 zone 3 zone 4 are not like this
During my time in London (September and October 2022), I was fortunate to spend the majority of my stay in Canary Wharf. It is stunning and amazing, as this video shows. One of London's best kept secrets. 🙂
Love it. The way that it has been laid out is so beneficial to the Worker's, how wonderful for them to be able to sit down in the Gardens close to Water Features it is so calming. For those of us who can remember what it looked like before, it is a dream world now.
i was 7 when they finnish building one canada square. i saw as a kid how run down it was grew up in westferry. but my dad saw the true extent of how bad it was. It was so bad when investors came knocking on peoples door to see if anyone was interested a lot of people didn't even dream what it would become.
This is spectacular and overwhelming at the same time. I am London born, Camden until l was 5 then our parents went back home to Ireland and raised us here. Married a local boy and live in the mountain over looking Lough Eske, so this would be like Philly was to us, a culture shock 🤣, but an experience. Pity London has become so ridiculously expensive though.

I must say that Canary Wharf freaks me out a bit whenever I go there. It feels very dystopic and artificial, all that concrete and glass. I'm also not great with heights so skyscrapers don't do much for me.

Almost all new construction over the last two decades. Lots of old warehouses and ancient buildings torn down to renovate this part of the city. Very evident the city's expansion is eastward.
Lol it's probably only 4pm on a winter's day: it gets dark at 3pm. Also, with video, you can't really tell how dark/light/sunny it really was, due to automatic aperture size and/or white balancing.
It’s winter. In England it is dark by 5pm - in summer it’s light past 8pm. Then all the office worker are spilling out onto the streets having a beer or a glass of wine after work. Completely different atmosphere in the summer.
J PH Yeah, I'm also afraid I would be stopped or be in trouble. Canary Wharf is private property and on their website they say it's not allowed to film or take high quality photos for commercial use.
