Are thay grassing you up for nothing like you pay to put you on a list of say bad guys what the f scam so this will mack us stop buying from shops and only street
Think ist time for you to try interview an officer to see what they are taught on all this. Its a mess. They should just legalize like literally everywhere else.
@AdamSabir-rm6gh Correct, and let's not forget that alcohol is also heavily advertised, and has been shown by David nutt to be one of the most damaging substances of abuse. Its pure loonicy.
I seen this so many times on the UKmedicalcannabis subreddit. Patients who are vulnerable being asked for the wrong evidence to backup their prescription. Well done speaking up Drew. Nuff luv
It is a non-profit, but we all know that doesn't make much difference, just now noticing how much money they are making, and I work in IT, their infrastructure and card printing does not cost anywhere near those numbers
wow... so just because the cancard gets you out of situations, all the legal prescription holders who get raided, beaten and medication removed because they didn't have a cancard don't matter? The very thing cancard was introduced because of is now harmed by cancard. The fact people here also feel like they have to pay £30 to a private company "as a back up" because the police are tricked into thinking it's what they need is disgusting.
Lol true. Though tbf you probably know more about how to stop paedophiles & rapists than they seem to... And know more about how to help our economy/most vulnerable people than the dickheads in charge as well. I was gonna put more examples but we'll be here all day 😂
@@twitch7406 What shooting are you even talking about cuz you must not be talking about Ohio, there hasn't been a school shooting here since like 2016. Also I looked at a list of Mass Shootings in the whole state of Ohio and it's lower than the number of recorded mass shootings in just the city of London, England
Anyone that gets any problems with law enforcement just seek legal advice & sue them minimum of £1500 compensation awarded & that's just for being falsely held for a few minutes
Im 100% right there with ya bro. I was recently on probation and told my probation officer that I now finally have a prescription etc etc and he told me to still be careful with the police and to keep all paperwork and prescription etc. And I told him the same thing, he asked me, do you have your canard then? And i was like nah why would I want a members club card? I have a prescription i don't need one and he didn't know what to say or where to look.... he totally agreed with this that its pointless and they're trained and taught misinformation and in his own logic he can total,y see where im coming from and he agreed that if taken to court a judge would rule in u favour even without the canard but the police are told if you don't have a can card then you're breaking the law which is totally not true!!! They need to fix this situation and fast before more of us end up in trouble with the old bill and it turns nasty...... reminds me of the hippie riots in the late 60s.... its time we stood up and made a stand against this kind of bullshit!!! N
I dont know how people get away with driving on it still as you still can't drive on drowsy medication which surely it is classed as so I actually think that's abit dumb you cant do some stuff on some medication that's just the way it is. I want to know if they do the test where they check ur eyes and reactions and stuff, and I almost guarantee that most will still fail.
this this and all of this. The system in the UK is fucking broken as it is with everything else. Well explained and i'm glad someone with a voice is finally speaking about about what a pointless thing the cancard is and the fact the police take more notice of it than an ACTUAL medical prescription with our name and a registered doctors signature on it. Not to mention the clinics name written on it which a quick google search would answer all their questions.
Thanks for raising such an important issue Drew. How can it possibly be legal for the police to arrest someone for not breaking the law? If the law states that you can have a legal prescription then arrest must surely be illegal in that case. It could maybe be seen as harrassment 🤔
its a good trick, giving the impression a uk legal prescription is not legal. then take in your medication away and searching you like a drug addict. its time for a real card! from the home office. i think the attitude is blindness to a real legal script. its game over and sum dont like that
@@smithisnottheone nobody should require a special card to carry a legal prescription. If you go to the doctors and get a prescription of deadly opioids you don't need a card to show the police so you shouldn't need one for a natural and safe medicine
So to be clear, its not a scam, cops are just fully ignorant and are not prepared for this kind of interaction. So not a scam just people being a bit stupid. It is NOT a scam don't know why you'r saying that.
I see what you’re saying and to be fair you did highlight this point but its more the fault of the police than the Cancard people. I think they pushed so hard for recognition with police that now they take the Cancard over legitimate prescriptions. I think the private clinics (certainly mine) are not entirely blameless because they give you no information on what to do if stopped by police or how to present your prescription in a format they can understand and recognise. I think the woman who started Cancard had good intentions but you’re right the situation now is not what it should be. I am a medical patient but I renew my Cancard as a precaution because of the potential ignorance of police.
Idk why your directing this at cancard when you should be directing this to the police. There more to cancard than just being able to buy green. They have helped people with court cases, worked with the police to recognise that some ppl need medical green and more. But yes, they could be doing more with educating the police about people who have prescription without a cancard. I will person stick with cancard as ive seen what theyve done and doing.
In West Yorkshire where I am from they don't even recognise the canna card they only accept if you have a prescription so it's pointless in this county anyways. And it's only hand full of them that know you can get a prescription.
Not cancards fault, why don't you blame your private companies that provide the prescriptions? They don't necessarily need government backing while cancard is doing the jobs for everyone in getting police to reconize medical users and licencing.
Cancard has confused the police into thinking that legal medical prescription holders NEED a cancard to prove they have a prescription. Why the hell should we pay Carly £20 when we already pay clinic/prescription costs
But surely the problem is the police not recognising a legal prescription. If you get arrested for a legal prescription then you have a every right to raise a complaint under the discrimination act and seek compensation. You should not be treated any different because of the type of legal medicine that you have been prescribed. I don’t see cancard as a scam but as an option for those who can’t afford a private clinic. I have been around the clinics for the last 2 years and I never found a clinic that only charges £30 for the year so that’s BS Drew. I think cancard is an option for someone on benefits or low income and gives some protection of defence if they get stopped. You had a video up the other week about how Cancard was so good and you was promoting it. Seems there is something else going on here with you and cancard. 😂
I think you might be missing the point Drew. I can't afford a private prescription. When one day I can get my bud on prescription from the NHS then I will give up my Cancard. I'm on disability and sometimes have to choose between food or petrol for my car. How the feck am I supposed to afford a private prescription?
If the police need educating about prescriptions, that's fair enough but why slate Cancard. Nobody is forced to have a Cancard, it's a choice. I'll be keeping mine for sure. As a community we are stronger together and need to avoid the divide and conquer trap.
Stronger together and these scamming bastards are unnecessarily getting people nicked ......scum bags in it for themselves fuck all to do with community
So are you blaming Cancard for this? They provide a service about which there are hundreds of very positive reports. It's a fantastic idea and seems to work very well. How is it Cancard's fault that the police have not been trained? Why on earth would you withdraw your support from Cancard over this? It makes no sense at all. The bigger isue is the disgraceful failure of the Home Office, PCCs and Chief Constables to train officers properly. This is where energy need to go, not in attacking a service which is very much on our side and doing great work!
I've been on prescription for 2 years, last year I went to the UK largest airshow with my medical cannabis Riat, they were amazing bout it. I am however still hiding to have my meds when Walking round my local village, I'm trying to educate folks about it and carry a the downloaded script on me 24/7 but I am extremely worried as to how I'll be treated by police as being a disabled person would struggle enormously to be able to educate the police if that happens.
You should not just be walking around smoking openly in front of people anyway if you have a medical licence great but that should not give you the right to spark up wherever you go people wont want to be around the smoke or have there children around tour smoke at best you should be able to use dedicated smoking area outside and in the privacy of your own home if bothered by neighbours or police show licnece and the can f right off but just walking around blazing no should also be rules if you are caught openly smoking in public x amount of times you lose your licnece
@ChrisSmith-rd6dm it is still illegal to smoke the prescribed bud. I had a long chat with my clinic about it and the flower is only prescribed to be vaped. Whether you smoke or not is up to you but a common misconception is that people are prescribed weed to smoke.
I don’t think the issue lies in the company cancard itself. It’s personally helped me on multiple occasions. As you quite rightly mentioned I think the issue lies in the lack on knowledge and structure within the police force and medical system. I don’t think we should be bashing cancard or the company as, as I mentioned it’s helped me multiple times. Struggle to see how the lack of information/education around prescriptions lies with the company cancard?
I think another point to this is yes. Some prescriptions are now offered for cheaper than a years subscription to hold a cancard. But then this doesn’t factor the money you’ll have to spend on the medication itself. I think we all understand the cancards perpous is to only justify to the police or similar authorities that you’re somewhat meant to have what you have. And I think that’s positive. The two are just very different and as mentioned above I don’t think the issue lies in the cancard itself or the company, but in the lack of knowledge given or taught to the police forces around actual proscriptions
@@WookiRahh But currently these aren’t acceptable for everyone. As good/or bad as it is black market for the quality is still cheaper. Id still rather hold a cancard than not if (currently) that’s what will stop myself from getting in trouble. Plus as mentioned struggle to see how the lack of knowledge of private prescriptions within the police force would be cancards issue. Yes I guess they’d want to help but at the end of the day these are all business
Cancard would not authorise my card until i sent them a copy of my prescription or proof of my diagnosed medical condition and confirmation from the clinic that i am a patient
Great video. In the USA we have tons of problems with government not recognizing legal medical cards given to patients by the state. The federal government still says weed is illegal. You have to be careful in South and the west of the USA.
Needs legalising end of. Sorry but ofc BM is cheaper than prescription overall as you don't have to pay for checkups or anything else. Plus GYO is a hell of a lot cheaper. Been smoking 25 years and growing for over 20.
It would cost me £400 to get to the point of seeing the DR then pay for the prescription an X amount to actually buy the medical cannabis £450 is my rent how hell do people afford to do this 😢
@@gazzy9136 yep £150 for yer consultation then the fist of all your script I. Top if they got your first month 👌😮😮it’s £450-£550 a month can’t afford that likes !!!!
Funny thing is I have a prescription, but cancard said I couldn’t have a card due to my condition not being recognised by them. That was before I hade a prescription
this is more of an police issue and not cancards issue.. although i see how cancard is a scam, but if it works for some people then it works. im sure there is cases of people with cancard that have been treated the same as the person you mentioned with the prescription. regardless of all this we all just trying to smoke and get away with it lets not start dragging fellow stoners down.
Just ordered 10g of Tokoloshe Sherbert 24%, the first non-irradiated flower available on prescription from Sapphire/Curaleaf.. Looking forward to smoking it up.. I really need to switch to Mamedica!
Whilst we're gaining some traction, it's still pretty messy out there for the most part! I don't understand how someone can be put through 2 forms of medication's before resorting to this!? And how it is the same case across a wide variety of problems. Does that not alone signify how backwards it all is?? If a medicine is good enough for problems completely un-related as a fail safe essentially; do you not think it's probably a good idea to look at having it available as a primary choice?? Another example, is for people like myself, who are not signed up to their local GP or visit doctors. If we use it to self-medicate and it helps us not visit the doctor; how are we liable for getting into trouble, when there are others walking around with free passes just because they went through the process of taking the red and blue pill first, all to be then given the fail-safe.. it's completely un-fair and a complete mess! I could go on about the in-justice and give many examples, but at least there are more now out there starting to get what they should. Is the system just buying it's time to get it's affairs in order!? It will always remain a controlled substance imo, just what form of control do we move to next with it??
As medically prescribed in Illinois we still have to hold a cannabis card. There is no written scripts for a particular strain or whatever you prefer take. As a cardholder you are prescribed to any medical cannabis.
I think calling it a scam is a bit clickbait. It seems cancard are trying to help and are actually helping people who are medicating with cannabis whether prescribed or not. The main issue is that the government don't have any decent policies to protect legal users
I went to apply for a can card after one of your videos and they could not be arsed helping me with it. Thank the herb that it never went through, something really stank about the whole can card set up, and it certainly wasn't Mary-Jane!
Mate I literally wanna scream, fully legit medical over here and bought a Cancard because I was told I HAD to have one to be walking around with my medical script. Wtf. You shouldn't need both considering there's one woman sitting in the office - and that's providing the whole nation security from the police. What is this country anymore.
For the sake of £30 a year, if it's going to save you a lot of hassle from the old bill, it's worth it in my opinion. The clinics should supply you with one actually!
I don't understand. In the U.S. We pay to get prescriptions but cant use them until approved by the state which changes a fee as well. Every year we pay the doctor and the state...
I have a prescription and live in coventry..I had no problems with the police even blazed one infront of them ..they had only ever seen 2 medical cards before and 1 was false..this has happened on 2 occasions. Most of the clubs in town are cool they let me go in and out no worries..kudos West Midlands police
I saw Cancard when I first heard medical cannabis was actually possible in the UK for my diagnoses. I read all the things they had to say and realised this was just what you say - not a legal exemption, but a defence that might be taken seriously (but the law and 'might' are not reliable). I did not sign up, but have been emailed regularly and even emailed about an investment opportunity.
Love how your so passionate Let’s start a guidelines for police uk policy for medical cannabis I’d be onboard as one of the 30000 patients being criminalised for no reason . Just say Drew and we’ll get it into legislation
great video Drew, keep pushing. everyone deserves to know about CBPM'S and that they COULD be eligible! Too many people are going without the help they need.
this needs to be picked up by the mainstream media, the population needs to know whats going on not just the community, you would be a great spokesperson drew, your passionate and know your shit
It sucks that the popo don’t know about scripts but if they take notice of the car card then surely it’s useful just for that. Also Cancard is £30 then £20 per annum the years after whereas using a clinic costs much more per year. Investing just £20 in the Cancard Grow facility recently also gave you the next years subscription free and a place in their dispensary clinic that they are opening this month with no consultation fee. To call it a scam just bc your pissed off with the police is a bit harsh in my opinion?
So 30 quid for a card that no longer really serves a purpose? Also spamming users is anything but professional. Always thought it was dumb. Doesn’t add any weight to a defence, if caught, and it’s far better to put the money towards a real script. I can send people cards for 15 quid a year that’ll do exactly the same 😂
Did you even listen to the video? Drew was basically complaining that the police don’t recognise the validity of a script but often ask for the Cancard as proof. That means the card is protecting the user does it not?
@@myzigc3036 everyone I know hasn’t had issues for over a year. My mate recently got pulled at a random roadside testing spot and soon as he showed his script the cop just told him to drive, UK is a big place. Drew is talking about his own experiences. What I see is totally different, where I am. Cancard serves no purpose imo
I am a medical cannabis user and have my prescription, however this has not prevented me from being prosecuted for possession, I was in court and had to plead not guilty, i am now adjourned, until 20/10/20223, and i will attend with my letter of confirmation. and the magistrate has said that they will, reject the charge and return my marijuana to me. there is no information currently being passed on to the authorities and the police will always press for prosecution as they still consider marijuana/cannabis illegal in the UK.
Hi Drew’s bro. It’s farm gas from kick lol I do understand what you are saying. CanCard is not a legal defence. The only form of a legal defence is a prescription. However it is a good thing I suppose on what cancard is trying to achieve and seems more of a police communication thing, or could it be that the gov don’t actually want it to be legal hence why everyone is kept in the dark about it. Sounds abit like Wales lol ultimately the whole community needs to be as one and work together. IMO we need more people like drew on YT, doing livestreams etc and get this info out there. We need to END PROHIBITION. It’s better than legalisation. Take it easy bro and catch you in the next live. Peace 🔥👍
Imagine trying to explain to a bunch of jumped up mid raid police that they have no reason to be there and they're information is wrong, no chance in hell they so much as listen. That must be so frustrating wtf
100% scammed the balls out off me. Didn't inform me it ment absolutly nothing in Northern Ireland. Then they never give my my renewal and won't refund the 20£.
I'm not particular sure how it's cancards fault that the police aren't being trained and informed correctly. If the police arrest you cos you don't have a cancard, that's the fault of the police for not knowing what the law is on prescriptions. Placing this as cancards fault is very weird when this is another instance of the police not knowing what the fuck they are doing.
Cancard are the ones who inform the police as to what cancard is and does. The police do not know what they are doing because they have obviously not provided them with inaccurate information. A cancard is for people who cannot afford a prescription. So how are police going around arresting prescription holders while asking them for their cancard? Yes the police are to blame, but so are cancard.
Drew, if you really to expedite the legalisation of weed in the UK then you would make RU-vid videos of you smoking bud in front of cops and catching those reactions. Because it would make good content and it would push more people into that direction.
Police ARE briefed and Cancard are strongly involved in the process. The police make awful errors of judgement every day, and solicitors make a fortune every day, when they sue them
Just got accepted by Mamedica drew after I watched your video am an ex army veteran suffering ptsd and insomnia and many more things, very happy I was accepted straight away the whole process took no longer her than 1 week brilliant happy days I hope all there gear is 🔥 🎉😊
A Cancard also somewhat acts as a legal defence for GYO, many of whom have concerns about pesticide use, mould, bud rot, irradiated bud, etc. I'm shocked that some have allegedly been issued their Cancard without the medical records, but we do need to progress to a stage where we all have easy access to legal dispensaries' where a medical card acts as your right to buy your meds. £30 a year is a joke, they need to be valid for life, and the only time people should really pay again is to cover the cost of cancelling and replacing a lost card. The police need to be constantly updated on all changes as they occur on this long road to legalisation too, prescription users shouldn't have to go through these ordeals and injustices as a result.
How are you folks getting nicked or stopped anyway? Medicate at home before you leave, or have exceptions at work for being able to return home during lunch if you need to medicate again.. you shouldnt be stood doing it on the streets if you really are using it medicinally. You dont hear someone with BPD say "just going outside to stand on a street corner and take my BPD meds".. they medicate up before the day starts, or excuse themselves somewhere private. If you're mediacting with cannabis in any situation where you can be caught or seen by the police, then you're probably just a recreational user who is using a card as an excuse to be inhaling weed on the streets. If any of you with real prescriptions or cards are doing it in cars and getting pulled over and thats how you're getting caught.. you shouldnt be operating vehicles anyway. I seriously dont get it. I medicate at home and thats it, never out and about in public where I could be approched by police. Anyone who uses it solely to medicate for a real condition that requires it, will MAKE SURE they are somewhere quiet and private away from potential situations that could result in being "caught". You're not 15 so stop doing it in public. You dont need validation from others seeing that you're using cannabis. Just go somewhere private and you wont get caught or stopped. And like Drew said "He can be walking along and get stopped for a search". How!? For what? You MUST have been STINKING of it for an officer to walk by and stop you for a drug search unprovoked. If you only need it medically, and dont care about the clout, you'd use smell proof kit. Its really not hard.
I have a prescription and I have just applied for a Cancard. from my perspective, I don't want ANY issues if I am to be approached by police or public etc. Carrying around the large prescription tubs with their labels, along with ID and paper evidence from my clinic, all seems really unnecessary. I'd need to take a whole bag around with me with all that stuff. If I can just carry the Cancard and be more confident to go about my day, I'm all for it. I just want to avoid any hassle. Obviously there are issues that need to be smoothed out within the police etc, as the UK is still in such transition with this, but until then I just want to feel like I can avoid hassle if I'm approached. It seems Cancard is for anyone who medically uses cannabis prescription or not, it's to keep people out of trouble, stop patients being criminalised. You have listed a lot of problems here but those problems aren't anything to do with Cancard they're to do with police and misinformation. It seems that Carly Barton has really worked hard to do a service for people like us, and has created the Cancard successfully with the police, so to go as far to say it's a scam seems silly and really damaging. even just having this video out there with the title, seems pretty unnecessary and I don't quite understand your motive. Just my thoughts.
Which clinics can you go to that's less than £30 everyone I have enquired at is over £150 before even getting a script and then after paying around £50 to get a script then whatever the bud price is?? First Consultation Initial assessment with a specialist doctor. £150 Follow-up consultation / Aftercare appointments with our clinical team. £75
From a private clinic. Steps: 1. Have an "eligible condition" 2. Try 2 prescribed treatment that have been ineffective 3. Request your summary care record from your GP proving 1 and 2 4. Apply to a private clinic
My local police are pretty chill went to the police station (for personal reasons) with my weed. They didn't know about medical weed, but they accpected my prescription on the tub with no issues. What he did tell me is if he saw me again that he cant stop me anymore (in the future) cause he's already seen the prescription .
Hey drew, is it worth making a petition for proper police briefing on cbmps? I wont make it with no following but you could certainly get the ball rolling for 10k signatures
Bro could you do a video or even a short on some of the cheaper clinics? Ive literally just got my cancard in the post yesterday because the others were waaay too expensive in this economy 😢 Appreciate your vids man, and the cameo with Nines 👀
I need to get this sorted. I have terrible addiction to OxyContin and would love to stop taken them. Cannabis does help and it’s the best alternative to anything I’ve tried. Shitty situation to be in, man. Can some one point me in the right direction on getting a legal medical prescription? I don’t know where to start and I’m almost desperate at this point. 😞
Do Cancard members get access to legal assistance? Like BASC members (for firearms and stuff) receive excellent Legal Aid, if the Police decide to mess with them.
I thought you were going to dive into the fact that they are trying to ask for investment off of their customers for medical cannabis grows considering you are calling them a scam
