Spent the day doing tin work and man oh man was it worth the effort. This back half is fitting nicely and its comforting to see that my ideas are working. This thing is going to come together quickly!

Hey Chris, I had the same rust spot on my Tj also. All I did was cut the first layer of metal on the tub corner off, then I used POR 15 to cover the next layer of metal on the corner. I waited a day, then I scuffed up the POR 15 and used panel bond to basically glue in the new piece of metal. I also welded in the license plate holes while I was at it. I then used body filler and then sanded the whole tub corner followed by primer, 4 coats of base paint and then 5 coats of clear. You cannot tell anything was ever done to that area. I also mounted my license plate to my spare tire with a relocation kit. Your Jeep is coming along really nice I might add. Looking forward to your next video. Take care and happy holidays to you.

Nice! I plan on replacing the metal all together. Probably won’t paint it but I’ll hit it with primer to seal it up. The corner armor will get painted and that’s what you’ll see! Preciate the kind words. Happy holidays!

Take it off and improve your departure angle, plus removing it will actually allow you to do more rear stretch without having to do the comp cut.
