Mike Flanagan and Guillermo del Toro are good pulls for humane horror

This game is pretty mediocre. Right out of the gate it's a blatantly obvious Cthulhu ripoff. Secondly, it quickly becomes clear that this is more of a framework for voice acting improv than an actual game. It feels like it's aimed more towards DMs interested in having players play a pre-written story than a naturally and dynamically unfolding story. Thirdly, the setting makes no sense and has been turned into a vacuous [inset current year] political statement. Did the writers really think we were dumb enough to believe that the entire world is a glorious utopia but all of a sudden, out of nowhere, the police is just a group of fascist violent thugs for seemingly no reason? I mean, come on. It's pretty damn lame. And of course, last but not least the rules feel unfinished and the entire thing is awfully unpolished.
