This is just perfect for us... I don't know if you do this in USA but here in Colombia in the night of the 7th of December, we light up some candles and put it on the sidewalks of the street... that looks really awesome when all the people come together and light up all the street :D Thanks for the project!

Really like the design, Steve. It also think it looks like a kind of scaled-down prototype for a dining table - or, a series of connected tables with benches for seating... The potential is endless! I probably would've considered rounding over the top edges on the vertical parts.

very nice project...the thing about this is, it is open to a thousand variables that can be utilized to suit the taste and needs of the individual. I think all your viewers should make one and send you a photo of the finished piece...I bet no two would be the same...sorta like snowflakes....good work Steve.

Hi Steve. You know after 10 years of your proyect. I finally made this from teak wood the only difference is the 3/4 material. Thicker than yours. But I feel proud that I made it. Thanks for sharing. I used to live in California in san Francisco for 20 years. It was close to Novato your city. But now I live in my home town city in El Salvador. Greetings from here. Merry Christmas and happy New Year.

I think I'd like to make this with twice the thickness of the cherry and have that set in lower so the flames of the candles closer to or level with the top of the holder.

I would have only added small glass receptacles for the candles. Clear would work but if they're defused, the light from the candles becomes softer. If they're colored, it would add another dimension to your creation. Receptacle would also help prevent wax overflow. Very nice project.

Like the candle holder I have an idea for your next candle holder maybey make it in a way that it looks like it is floating in mid air
@SteveRamsey

@mikekali55 Basically, just find the centers. To do that, make an X from one corner to the opposite. Then with a square, you can draw a centerline. From there, I just marked two more lines 1/8" apart to indicate the 1/4" I needed for the notches.

I'd like to see more videos with basic power tools - drill, sander, and a saw (jig, circular, whatever). It'd help out people that do not have routers or table saws and miter saws. Just my $0.02. I love your videos though - even though I don't have a lot of your tools (yet).

If I went into a project without a plan I would end up with small pieces of scrap and sawdust. I would think that sloping the walnut pieces towards the corners and chamfering the corners of the maple pieces might look cool.

I think this design in my opinion should have the darker wood pieces thicker so the entire metal part of the candle (1/2" I think they are) slides down into the darker wood piece, so the total thickness would have to be at least 3/4" to 1" depending on the spar point of the bit used to make the 1.5" hole for the candle, then done, perfection.

Hey i have an idea that you might enjoy, i got the idea from watching your candle holder video, well i was designing it in my head and i remember your video on the band saw box, and i thought if you combined like two drawers to hold the tea light candles,built in the candle holder, with the stand for the candles ontop with drawers under neath i think it would be a multi use, just a thought :) i am trying to get into wood working so i might not be on point but like you said, " our minds are the main creativity behind wood working" God bless you ! and if you would like to message me about this idea or some pointers, please let me know i will be happy to hear from you sir,
