Can I just say something? Papa is known to be a very big fan of Candlemass, and probably one of the reasons he fucking nails it is because as a kid/teenager he sang along with it so many times. And knowing that he now has the chance to sing it on stage with people he admires makes me so happy :D
I must say, he sounds like he's singing as himself and not so much as his character of Papa. And I like that. :) Sounds like the fan in him coming out :3
I think he kinda has to. To call Well of Souls (or damn near any Messiah-era Candlemass song) "challenging" is a gross understatement. Papa does a great job of it, but you can tell it took all he had.
blonde guy in the audience wasn't aware of papa singing because he turned his back to the stage and was about to leave and then he realizes that papa is singing and went back. hehe. (about 15 - 35 seconds time)
That was awesome that they let Papa sing one of their songs with them on stage. I'm going to start listening to Candlemass again since its been a long time. Such an amazing scene this is.
Papa (I wont give up his real name even though he revealed himself) is an uniqe artist. He grew up listening to bands from ABBA to death metal. He can scream and sing too
@@gamesmaker1 No. The Ghouls had agreed to a contract, they were just paid to perform Tobias's songs on stage. The only one of them who contributed anything (Wrote Year Zero instrumental and Zenith) was Martin Persner and he didn't even sue Tobias. 2 guys from the first lineups backed Tobias's claims that he alone had made the music, as proof of that is also the fact that Opus was completely written by him and recorded by him alone and a paid bassist, the drums were made with computers. He won the case 2 times now so all is clear.
the vocals are the curse of candlemass....apart from the absolute great music they have created, they have always got the best singers, best vocal perfomers ever, Johan, Messiah, Robert, how it is possible they have not fixed any of those forever...? Love this Band!
