They should’ve added a part where all of the other candymen appear while Brianna’s by herself and are all standing in front of their respective paintings

She is doing as candyman told her and spreading the legend using Anthony's paintings of various itterations of the story. I think it should've been kept in the theatrical release

In a script for the first movie they described the images in his lair as being like 'effigies of a saint' in a church. They're doing it here as well, the various depictions of saints in a church and like she's the high priestess of the church, right down to her regal-looking hairstyle and her golden robes.

He did tell her to “Tell Everyone.” And she is, by showing Anthony’s artwork on different Candymen but now she’s stuck in even more pain and trauma than before, cause before, she was keeping it together as she thought about her fathers suicide, who was also an artist. Now, she’s being watched by Everyyyy renewed Candyman from different generations, both fact and fiction, making sure that she still believes and that she’s doing what she was instructed to do. Daniel Robataille: Fiction. Sherman Fields: Fiction. William Bell: Fact. Samuel Evans: Fiction. George Stinney Jr: Fact. George Byrd Jr: Fact. Emmett Till: Fact. They are Allll apart of the entity that Candyman really is. The Hive of souls, victims of injustice, racism, white supremacy, police brutality…You can even include George Floyd: Fact. and Oscar Julius Grant: Fact. Yes. Candyman kills innocent people, but the thing is that he kills those who are non believers of his existence that chant his name in mirrors…That’s the WHY he kills them. The ones that believe in him and call his name are spared for a reason. Much like Helen and Brianna, so that they can tell his excruciating story…And now, THEIR excruciating stories, along with her experience to keep him from fading away and being forgotten like he almost was. Briana is just a messenger but she may also become The Hives high priestess. And Helen was Daniel Robatailles lover, reincarnated, that’s why he appeared in the first movie instead of Sherman Fields, along with the other 2 sequels, cause he was trying to get his descendants like Annie and Caroline to know who he was and the pain he faced and what he has become due to that pain, along with joining him in death.

I’m believing that her father was obsessed with Danielle R. Candyman. Here’s why I say that. If you look at the scene with her father as a child, the paintings on the floor and walls are the same in this “Candyman” exhibit. Why would they be there in the first place if it’s not related to the Candyman movement if you will. Now to tie it all together, at the end why do you think Danielle revealed himself to her instead of Anthony saying tell everyone? That’s because she was introduced to him in some way or fashion when she was a child. Without really know it. Remember William B said “For me, Candyman was Sherman Fields” that’s why we see Sherman haunting Anthony and not Danielle. Yes, Anthony was told about Danielle, but he was told about Sherman first. Helen saw Danielle aka OG Candyman because she was told the story of HIM first and not Sherman!

So she's ensuring that Anthony's work is seen and that the story of every Candyman (Anthony, Sherman, Daniel and the rest) are told, ensuring their legacy and their legend as well as preserving Anthony's life as well as his death. Maybe those who see them will be tempted to summon the Candyman, maybe they won't, but one way or the other they'll tell the stories either in whispers or out loud. But as for her, though she will live as she is fulfilling her duty/instructions to 'Tell Everyone', she will also live a sad life not only because she will forever be tempted to summon Candyman again in the hopes of seeing Anthony again, but because she will forever be surrounded by trauma and sadness, both the stories she is telling and through the memories of her own experiences with trauma and tragedy (the last shot shows her surrounded by the paintings of the Candymen and the violence of their stories shown through the paintings - plus it's almost like they're watching her in case she tries to tell anyone that they're not real again - and we see her staring into the mirror and can see how much she wants to see Anthony in there again).

This alternate ending is beautiful this should have been in the movie.

I'm considering this an after credit scene exclusive to the Blu-Ray (since it playedautomaticallyafter the film ended). It's too beautiful to just consider an unused scene.

This ending is so tragic in my opinion she desires to be with him regardless of even knowing about the danger it comes with summoning her lover/Candyman.

Man I wish they keep everything in this movie but it's all good

Honestly, I am SO GOOD with how it ended, as Tony's appearance surprised and delighted me, but this alternate could have been used in the end credits and before fading to the shadow puppet sequence. Either way, it works!

So here’s what I know about Candyman’s appearances: First one: Candyman story is told by someone making Helen the reincarnated loved Second: Candyman story is told again by the same person and Annie is the great granddaughter Third: Candyman same story but now targets Caroline (Annie’s daughter) And Finally, Fourth: Candyman’s story is a different person and chooses Anthony to become the next one So what I learned is that whenever Candyman is described by another person he becomes that appearance and kills people even though Candyman is the whole hive of lost victims

Works as After Credit scene.

I personally thought An alternate ending would be Brianna dying or joining the hive somehow to truly forecast that the hive is not just candy men but the whole entirety of people hurt by the cycle whether it be ignored mental health or systemic prejudice

The first 20 seconds sound like buzzing.....

This Candyman keeps making references to the first one and how Anthony inherited "the curse." The movie should have been titled: Candyman Resurrection.

Anybody knew how the full scene went?? Also, fun little detail i found was that the man walking past the mirror kinda resembles a candyman (white maybe gray pants, long jacket)

Why isn't there more of a grassroots campaign to release the original version shot/written by Nia and Jordan? I really liked the first hour of the movie, but thought the last half hour (and short run-time) seemed like a studio-cut job that def makes the movie worse. Release the Nia/Peale Cut!

Well that was pointless. I can see why they cut it out, unless there is more and this is just a short version of the alternate ending.

I really wish we can see an alternate scene where those high school girls were killed off screen so we can see how are they being killed

Unfortunately, this movie was not as good as it could have been. The plot and characters weren’t that interesting. But my real gripe was that the movie felt weirdly edited. The decision not to show most of the kills up close, but rather from a distance (and sometimes obscured), felt odd. Also, the pivotal scene at the end where the cop shoots him felt really strangely edited. As a viewer, I was confused, wondering what had actually happened. I’m not sure if this was an intentional stylistic choice or if they had a really amateur production team. Also, the CGI/de-aged Tony Todd at the end looked really bad.

Boring.
